QA / Test Engineer

That is where you come in.

As our QA / Test Engineer, you help us take the next step in how we build software. Not by testing at the very end, but by making quality part of the way we design, build and release products. You bring structure to QA, help the team think ahead and set up smart testing processes where automation and AI tooling do the heavy lifting.

This is not a role where everything is already neatly arranged. You will help build the QA discipline from the ground up. Challenging assumptions, setting direction and making sure we can release faster and with confidence.

What will you do

As QA / Test Engineer you work closely with our developers and product team to make quality an embedded part of how we build software.

You do not only look at what should be tested, but especially at how testing should work inside the development process. This means you will spend time both testing and improving how testing is done.

Your responsibilities

• Design and set up testing strategies that fit an agile product development team

• Introduce structure in how we approach QA and testing across the development process

• Create, execute and maintain manual and automated test cases

• Explore and implement AI-driven testing approaches where they add real value

• Analyse, reproduce and clearly document bugs so developers can fix them quickly

• Work closely with developers and product managers to identify risks early

• Help the team continuously improve quality and release confidence

• Advise on testing tools, workflows and improvements in the development process

Our platform is primarily built with Java and React, so your work often happens close to the code and in direct collaboration with the developers who build it.

About the team

BaseNet is part of , a fast-growing tech group that brings together specialised software companies across different industries.

At BaseNet we build SaaS software specifically designed for the legal sector. Our platform helps law firms organise cases, manage client communication and keep their work structured and efficient. Thousands of legal professionals rely on it every day.

You will join a product-driven organisation of around 50 colleagues, working closely with a development team of 16 engineers and several technical leads. The teams collaborate across the Netherlands and Spain and you report directly to the CPTO.

What you bring

• At least 5 years of experience in QA or software testing within a product-driven environment

• Experience building or improving testing processes within development teams

• A hands-on approach: you like testing, analysing and improving things yourself

• Experience combining manual testing with automation where it adds value

• Curiosity about AI and practical experience using AI tools to support testing

• The confidence to question how things are done and propose better ways

• Strong collaboration skills with developers and product managers

• Familiarity with agile development practices such as Scrum or Kanban

• Fluent in English
