Company Information

Company Name: Drukkerij Em. De Jong

Company Website: https://www.emdejong.nl

Company Address: Lage Ham 36, 5102 AE Dongen, Netherlands

Drukkerij Em. De Jong is a long-established Dutch printing company best known as a large producer of retail, promotional, and commercial printed communications in Europe. The business is commonly referred to as Em. de Jong and operates from the Netherlands, where it has developed from a traditional printing house into a large-scale print production and media services organization. Although the company is not a software vendor or electronics manufacturer, it is technology-related in the sense that its operations depend heavily on advanced industrial printing, prepress automation, data-driven production workflows, and integrated media production systems. Within the broader communications and publishing technology landscape, the company is recognized for high-volume print manufacturing and associated services. The company’s core activities center on the production of printed advertising and communication materials. Its best-known output includes folders, brochures, leaflets, magazines, catalogs, and other print products used by retailers, publishers, and commercial clients. Em. de Jong is particularly associated with large print runs and fast turnaround work for promotional distribution. The company also provides services that support the print production chain, such as layout and prepress preparation, print finishing, binding, personalization, and distribution-related support. In practical terms, it functions as a manufacturing and service partner for businesses that need large quantities of printed marketing or informational material delivered efficiently and consistently. A key feature of Drukkerij Em. De Jong is its scale and production orientation. The company has been described publicly as one of the larger printing operations in the Netherlands and in the European print market for advertising print. Its facilities are built around industrial print technology, including high-capacity offset printing systems and automated finishing equipment. These production capabilities allow the company to handle substantial volumes for national and international customers. In modern printing, the ability to manage file preparation, color control, scheduling, imposition, plate production, press operation, and finishing through coordinated digital systems is essential; Em. de Jong’s positioning as a major printer indicates strong integration of these technologies into its operating model. The company’s products and services are aimed primarily at business customers rather than consumers. Retail chains, publishers, brands, agencies, and other commercial organizations use the company for print campaigns, weekly promotional folders, direct marketing materials, and publishing-related print work. In this role, the company acts as a production partner that converts digital source files into printed communication products at industrial scale. This involves not only printing itself, but also quality assurance, logistics coordination, and delivery planning. For printed advertising in particular, reliability and timing are critical, since many campaigns are linked to store promotions or publication dates. Em. de Jong’s long-term presence in this segment suggests that dependable process control and operational continuity are central to its business. Drukkerij Em. De Jong is also associated with a broader group structure under the name Koninklijke Drukkerij Em. de Jong, reflecting a corporate heritage and a recognized standing in the Dutch printing sector. The “Koninklijke” designation, where used officially, indicates royal recognition in the Netherlands, a distinction associated with long-established organizations of significance. This supports the company’s identity as a mature and established enterprise rather than a small local print shop. Over time, the company has expanded beyond basic print output toward a broader communications production profile, while remaining anchored in print manufacturing. From a technology standpoint, commercial printing companies like Em. de Jong operate at the intersection of manufacturing technology, digital workflow software, data handling, and media production. Customers typically submit digital artwork and publication files, which move through automated prepress and production systems before being transferred to printing plates or digitally controlled print devices. Finishing processes such as folding, trimming, stitching, and bundling are likewise increasingly automated. Em. de Jong’s value proposition therefore depends not just on possession of presses, but on the effective orchestration of production technology, scheduling systems, and supply-chain execution. This makes the company relevant in a technology-oriented company dataset even though its end products are printed media rather than software products. The company’s market role is tied to the continuing demand for printed advertising and publication materials in retail and commercial communications. While digital media has transformed advertising, printed folders, catalogs, and magazines remain important in many markets, especially for local and regional promotions. Em. de Jong serves this demand with high-volume production capacity and operational specialization. Its business model appears to emphasize efficiency, quality consistency, and the ability to support recurring campaigns. That combination is typical of industrial printing firms that work with large commercial accounts over long periods. In summary, Drukkerij Em. De Jong is a real and established Dutch printing company whose main business is the industrial production of commercial print, especially advertising and promotional materials such as leaflets, brochures, magazines, and catalogs. Its services extend across prepress, printing, finishing, and related production support. The company is best understood as a technologically advanced print manufacturer within the communications and publishing supply chain. Its relevance to technology lies in its extensive use of industrial print systems, digital workflow management, and automated production processes to deliver large-scale printed communication products for business clients.
