Arval is an international provider of full-service vehicle leasing and fleet management solutions that operates as a specialist mobility business within the BNP Paribas Group. The company’s publicly described activities center on designing, delivering and managing long-term vehicle solutions for corporate and professional customers. Arval positions itself as a lifecycle partner for company fleets, handling vehicle acquisition, financing, day-to-day fleet administration, driver services, maintenance and repair coordination, insurance and accident management, fuel and toll solutions, and end-of-contract remarketing. In addition to core leasing and fleet administration, Arval has developed a suite of mobility services intended to support corporate customers through transitions such as electrification of fleets, integration of connected-vehicle data, implementation of telematics, and design of multimodal mobility programs. As a full-service lessor, Arval’s principal business activity is long-term vehicle rental (often described as full-service leasing), in which the company finances or structures the acquisition of vehicles and assumes responsibility for fleet management tasks on behalf of clients. Typical contractual offerings include fixed-term vehicle leasing agreements that bundle financing with operational services: scheduled maintenance and servicing, roadside assistance, insurance handling and claims administration, replacement vehicles, tyre management, and routine inspections. Arval also provides ancillary products that are closely linked to fleet operations, including fuel cards and expense management, toll and mobility card solutions, and driver assistance programs. These bundled services are engineered to reduce the administrative burden on corporate fleet managers and to provide predictable operational and budgeting outcomes for companies of varied sizes. A notable component of Arval’s product set is its remarketing and residual value management capability. At the end of lease contracts, Arval manages the inspection, refurbishment where needed, and resale or auctioning of used vehicles through dedicated remarketing channels. This activity helps clients manage residual-value risk and supports lifecycle planning for fleet renewals. The company typically offers tailored end-of-contract options—return, purchase, or replacement—along with market-driven pricing and logistics for vehicle resale. Digital and connected services form an important element of Arval’s service portfolio. The company provides telematics solutions and data-driven fleet-management tools to support route optimization, driver behavior monitoring, fuel-efficiency programs, and preventative maintenance scheduling. These telematics and connected-vehicle capabilities are packaged as fleet analytics and reporting tools for fleet managers, allowing clients to track total cost of ownership (TCO), emissions and utilization metrics. Arval also supplies customer-facing digital portals and mobile apps that enable drivers and fleet administrators to access contract information, service booking, incident reporting and real-time vehicle data. To respond to shifting customer needs and regulatory pressures, Arval offers products and advisory services targeted at electrification and low-emission mobility. These offerings commonly include electric vehicle (EV) leasing options, support for charging infrastructure planning and deployment, fleet electrification consultancy, and operational services designed to integrate EVs into existing fleet operations. The company often works with corporate clients to design transition roadmaps that consider vehicle selection, charging logistics, total cost comparisons between conventional and electrified drivetrains, and driver training for EV use. Arval’s customer base is principally composed of corporate clients and professional fleet operators, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to large multinational corporations. The company’s services are sold through a combination of local subsidiaries, regional offices and partner distributors, enabling it to deliver localized operational support while retaining centralized product development and risk management practices. In many markets Arval complements its leasing activities with consultancy services—providing fleet benchmarking, mobility policy design, driver risk management programs and sustainability reporting assistance for corporate customers seeking to reduce fleet emissions and align mobility programs with corporate social responsibility objectives. Operationally, Arval integrates financial services, operational fleet management and remarketing within a single provider model. This integration allows clients to consolidate multiple fleet-related activities under one contractual and operational umbrella, simplifying procurement and reporting. Arval’s service delivery model emphasizes predictable budgeting, compliance with local regulatory frameworks affecting corporate fleets, and availability of replacement vehicles and emergency assistance to minimize operational downtime for customers. Arval also engages in market and industry research. Through customer-facing reports, whitepapers and mobility observatories, the company publishes analyses related to fleet trends, vehicle electrification, driver behavior and market residual values—intended both to inform clients and to support internal product development. These research activities are positioned as practical resources for fleet managers and corporate mobility planners. Although Arval’s public communications focus on its leasing and mobility offerings, the company’s expanded portfolio of digital tools, telematics, electrification services and remarketing capabilities positions it at the intersection of automotive fleet operations and mobility technologies. Its model combines financing expertise with operational and digital services to address the comprehensive needs of corporate fleets and to support customers through technological and regulatory transitions affecting corporate vehicle use.
