Company Name: Blauwtand

Company Website: https://www.blauwtand.nl

Company Address: N/A

Blauwtand is presented as a technology company that focuses on deploying and supporting Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)-based systems, Internet of Things (IoT) integrations, and mobile software components for proximity-based applications. The company positions itself as a specialist in the engineering, integration, and operational support of proximity and location-aware solutions that use modern low-power wireless protocols to enable contextual digital experiences, asset tracking, and data-driven analytics for organizations. Blauwtand’s offerings are centered on three complementary areas: hardware and embedded firmware for BLE devices, software and cloud services to manage devices and data, and professional services to design, integrate, and operate solutions tailored to client environments. Company overview and core activities Blauwtand’s core business activities typically include the design and supply of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon and sensor hardware, development of mobile and web software (including SDKs and APIs) that enable client applications to interact with BLE devices, and delivery of cloud-hosted platforms for device provisioning, fleet management, and telemetry ingestion. The company’s work commonly covers the full solution lifecycle: concept and proof-of-concept (PoC) development, pilot deployment, scaling to production, and ongoing managed services such as monitoring, firmware updates, and analytics. By combining embedded engineering and cloud-native software, Blauwtand aims to provide end-to-end systems that translate low-level sensor and proximity data into actionable insights and customer experiences. Main products and services - BLE hardware and firmware: Blauwtand supplies or specifies battery-powered BLE beacons and environmental sensors capable of broadcasting identifiers and telemetry (e.g., temperature, humidity, movement). The company typically provides custom firmware options to support configurable advertising intervals, adjustable transmission power, and secure provisioning flows for large device fleets. - Mobile SDKs and applications: To enable smartphone and tablet apps to detect and act on proximity events, Blauwtand offers mobile software development kits (SDKs) for major mobile operating systems. These SDKs abstract BLE scanning, filtering, and event handling and provide interfaces for delivering contextual content, triggering actions in client apps, and capturing analytics. Blauwtand also develops turnkey mobile applications for use cases such as visitor guidance, indoor wayfinding, proximity-based marketing, and field worker support. - Cloud management platform (SaaS): A cloud-hosted management console is part of the product set, enabling device registration and provisioning, fleet health monitoring, remote firmware updates (OTA), and historical telemetry storage. The platform typically exposes RESTful APIs and webhooks for integration with third-party systems (CRM, CMS, analytics platforms) and supports role-based access control for operational teams. - Data analytics and reporting: Blauwtand’s solutions process raw BLE and sensor data into aggregated metrics, heatmaps, dwell-time analytics, and event-driven reports that organizations can use to measure engagement, optimize space usage, or track assets. The company often integrates with business intelligence tools and can provide custom dashboards tailored to sector-specific KPIs. - System integration and consulting: Professional services include solution architecture, RF site surveys, proof-of-concept development, pilot management, on-site installation support, training, and long-term managed services. Blauwtand typically works with customers across retail, museums and cultural venues, facilities management, logistics, and corporate campuses where proximity detection and asset tracking deliver measurable business value. Technology approach and interoperability Blauwtand emphasizes open interoperability: BLE devices follow standardized advertisement formats and the company’s cloud platform makes data available via standard APIs. Solutions frequently combine BLE with other connectivity technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi for backhaul, LoRa or cellular for remote telemetry) depending on the use case. The technology stack reported for similar providers includes embedded C for firmware, native mobile SDKs (Swift/Kotlin), cloud services (containerized microservices, message queues, and time-series databases), and integration bridges to common enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, generic CMS platforms). Typical use cases and customer outcomes Common customer use cases implemented by Blauwtand-like providers include: proximity-triggered content delivery in retail environments (special offers, product information), indoor navigation and contextual guidance in public venues, asset and equipment tracking in warehouses and healthcare facilities, occupancy and environmental monitoring for smart buildings, and personalized visitor experiences in cultural institutions. Implementations often aim to reduce operational costs (through asset visibility), increase engagement and conversion (through contextual messaging), and improve safety or compliance (through location-based alerts). Delivery and support model Blauwtand’s delivery model generally combines software-as-a-service for device and data management with hardware supply and professional services. Customers can either license the cloud platform on a subscription basis or contract for a managed service that includes device procurement, installation, and ongoing operations. Support offerings commonly include maintenance plans, service-level agreements (SLAs) for uptime and response, and options for bespoke feature development. Security and privacy considerations Given the sensitivity of location and behavioral data, solutions offered by firms like Blauwtand include features for secure device provisioning, encrypted telemetry channels, and privacy-conscious data retention policies. Mobile SDKs typically provide mechanisms to obtain and respect user consent and to limit personally identifiable information collection in line with regional regulations. The company’s platforms often include configurable data retention and anonymization settings to support compliance. Partners and integrations Blauwtand typically partners with hardware manufacturers for BLE beacons and sensors, mobile app development partners for bespoke client apps, and cloud infrastructure providers for scalable backend services. Integration options focus on common enterprise endpoints—CRMs for customer engagement, analytics platforms for business intelligence, and content management systems for contextual content delivery. Note: The above description focuses on Blauwtand as a technology provider in the BLE/IoT and mobile proximity domain. The summary emphasizes product and service categories, technical approaches, and typical industry use cases rather than unverified corporate history or leadership claims.
