Job Description

Waar ben je naar op zoek?

Creative Technologist (AI & Interactie)

  • Vibe coden & rapid prototypen

Over jou

  • Een opleiding gevolgd in de richting van Interaction Design, CMD, AI, Journalistieke Innovatie, Digitale Media of iets totaal anders, zolang je maakt;
  • Een portfolio met experimenten, prototypes of concepten;
  • Kennis van generatieve AI, LLM's en prompt design;
  • Vlieguren in Cursor, Claude, Replit, v0 - of zin om hard te leren;
  • Het vermogen om een data scientist én een journalist mee te nemen in je ideeën;
  • Een natuurlijke blik op inclusie, diversiteit en toegankelijkheid;
  • Ervaring met designsprints, Agile werken en prototyping (pré);

Company Information

Company Name: KRO-NCRV

Company Website: https://www.kro-ncrv.nl

Company Address: N/A

KRO‑NCRV is a Dutch public broadcasting association formed through the cooperation and eventual merger of two historically established Dutch broadcasters: KRO (Katholieke Radio Omroep) and NCRV (Nederlandse Christelijke Radio Vereniging). Operating within the Netherlands’ public broadcasting system, KRO‑NCRV functions as a content producer and broadcaster that creates, commissions and distributes audio‑visual content across national public television and radio channels as well as via digital and on‑demand platforms. As part of the Dutch public broadcasting landscape, KRO‑NCRV contributes programming to the national public broadcasting organization (Nederlandse Publieke Omroep, NPO) and participates in the public media infrastructure by producing original programmes and formats for general and targeted audiences. Company overview and history KRO‑NCRV was established following a strategic decision to combine resources and programming traditions of KRO and NCRV in order to strengthen their position within the Dutch public broadcasting system. The merged association preserves elements of both predecessor organizations’ identities and program portfolios while operating under the single banner of KRO‑NCRV. The organization maintains a presence in Hilversum—long established as the Netherlands’ media and broadcasting hub—and works with production teams, creative staff, commissioning editors and external independent production companies to realize a broad schedule of programming across television, radio and online channels. Core business activities KRO‑NCRV’s principal activities center on the creation and distribution of media content for the Dutch public. These activities include: - Television production: Developing and producing scheduled television programmes and series across multiple genres including drama, documentary, factual entertainment, current affairs, cultural programming and family/children’s content. KRO‑NCRV commissions, produces and co‑produces programmes for broadcast on national public television channels operated by the NPO network. - Radio programming: Producing radio shows, talk programmes, features and music content for public radio channels, as well as developing radio formats and segments for live broadcast and archived consumption. - Digital and on‑demand media: Publishing digital content such as video clips, long‑form digital documentaries, written editorial features and behind‑the‑scenes material via its official website and partner platforms. The organization also distributes programmes through on‑demand services and streaming portals that form part of the Dutch public media ecosystem. - Podcasts and online audio: Creating and distributing podcasts and serialized audio programmes that extend broadcast brands into the podcasting space, aimed at both niche and mainstream audiences. - Co‑production and commissioning: Collaborating with independent production companies, third‑party creatives and other broadcasters for co‑production projects, rights management and distribution partnerships both domestically and internationally. - Audience engagement and outreach: Running audience engagement initiatives tied to broadcast content, including educational outreach, events, community activities and cross‑platform campaigns that support programme themes and public service objectives. Main products and services KRO‑NCRV’s output comprises a mixture of legacy radio and television brands inherited from the founding organizations as well as newly developed formats and series. The organization’s products and services include scheduled television series and specials, radio programmes, documentaries, investigative and current affairs reporting, drama and scripted series, children’s programming and family‑oriented content. In addition to linear broadcast content, KRO‑NCRV produces digital short‑form video, long‑form online features, podcast series and supplementary editorial material for its website and social channels. The association also provides production services and collaborates in co‑production arrangements that serve broadcasters, cultural institutions and distribution partners. Position within the public broadcasting system Operating within the regulated Dutch public broadcasting framework, KRO‑NCRV functions as one of the member organizations contributing to the national programme offer. This means it participates in multi‑broadcaster scheduling, contributes content to NPO channels, and adheres to public broadcasting obligations and standards in the Netherlands. Its programming historically reflects the cultural and social orientations of its predecessor organizations while addressing contemporary public interests, including social issues, ethics, family life, cultural heritage and civic debate. Organizational activities and partnerships KRO‑NCRV maintains editorial teams and production units that collaborate with a network of freelance producers, writers, directors and technical crews. The association often works in partnership with other public broadcasters, independent production companies and international co‑producers to realize larger scale productions and to broaden the reach of its content beyond the Dutch market. Through these partnerships, KRO‑NCRV engages in rights management, festival submissions, format licensing and distribution discussions for selected productions. Public service remit and audience As a public broadcaster contributing to the NPO system, KRO‑NCRV’s activities are oriented toward serving a broad Dutch audience with programming designed to inform, entertain and reflect societal issues. Its content slate typically includes programmes intended for general audiences as well as targeted offerings for specific demographic groups, including children and families. The association supports multi‑platform distribution to allow audiences to access programming on traditional broadcast schedules and on digital, on‑demand services. Governance and funding KRO‑NCRV operates as a public broadcasting association subject to the governance and regulatory arrangements that apply to public media organizations in the Netherlands. Its financing is derived from the mechanisms that support the Dutch public broadcasting system, which historically include public funding allocations and other permitted revenue sources. The association maintains editorial independence within the framework of public broadcasting regulations while being accountable to statutory oversight applicable to public media entities in the Netherlands. In summary, KRO‑NCRV is a consolidated Dutch public broadcasting association producing television, radio and digital content for the national public broadcasting system. It develops a broad range of programme genres, engages in co‑production and distribution partnerships, and serves audiences via broadcast and digital platforms as part of the Netherlands’ public media infrastructure.
