    Company Information

    Company Name: DAF Trucks

    Company Website: https://www.daf.com

    Company Address: N/A

DAF Trucks N.V. is a major European commercial vehicle manufacturer specializing in the design, engineering, production and sale of medium- and heavy-duty trucks, together with a portfolio of associated parts, services and fleet solutions. Headquartered in the Netherlands, DAF is known for producing road tractors and rigid trucks for long-haul, regional and distribution applications, and it serves customers including fleet operators, logistics companies and owner-drivers across Europe and other markets. The company’s product range is organized around a small set of core model families that address different segments of the truck market: the LF range for lighter-weight and distribution duties, the CF range for regional, construction and vocational applications as well as mid-weight long-distance work, and the XF range which targets long-haul heavy-duty transport. These product families include tractor units and rigid chassis configurations, and are offered with a variety of driveline, axle and cab options to suit customer requirements. Core business activities include vehicle development and manufacturing, aftermarket parts supply, dealer and service network operations, and connected fleet services. DAF develops and integrates powertrains (including engines sourced from its parent company’s engine programmes), transmissions and chassis systems; it conducts vehicle testing and type-approval for regional markets; and it provides factory-backed warranty, maintenance and repair services through an international dealer network. The company’s aftermarket activities encompass spare parts distribution, remanufactured components and technical support designed to maximize vehicle uptime for operators. In parallel, DAF supplies commercial offerings for customers such as financing, leasing and contract maintenance via affiliated financial services partners to support vehicle acquisition and lifecycle management. In recent years DAF has positioned itself around a combination of vehicle fuel-efficiency, driver comfort and vehicle uptime. Its product engineering emphasizes aerodynamics, powertrain efficiency and weight optimisation to reduce fuel consumption and operating cost per kilometre. DAF also integrates a suite of safety and driver assistance features commonly found in modern commercial vehicles, including advanced emergency braking systems (AEBS), adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and other electronic stability and traction controls to meet regulatory and customer safety expectations. Driver ergonomics and cab comfort are recurring development themes: DAF cabs are typically designed to provide a spacious sleeping area for long-haul drivers and practical in-cab storage and controls aimed at reducing driver fatigue. DAF has also increased its focus on vehicle connectivity and digital fleet management. The company offers telematics and fleet information systems (branded services are marketed under names such as DAF Connect) that provide real-time vehicle data to fleet managers — including fuel consumption metrics, driver performance indicators, vehicle health diagnostics and predictive maintenance alerts. These services are intended to improve operational efficiency, reduce downtime and enable data-driven decisions on vehicle deployment and service scheduling. DAF works with a network of dealers and service providers to integrate connected services into warranty, maintenance and repair workflows. On the technology and innovation front, DAF has invested in electrification and low-emission vehicle initiatives in response to tightening emissions regulations and customer demand for zero- and low-emission transport solutions. The company has developed battery-electric truck demonstrators and pilot models aimed at urban and regional distribution markets and has explored alternative driveline technologies while continuing to improve the fuel efficiency of diesel-powered models. Research and development activities also include ongoing improvements in vehicle aerodynamics, lightweight materials and advanced drivetrain controls, as well as testing of automated driving aids and safety technologies aligned with industry-wide trends toward greater automation and connectivity. DAF operates multiple production facilities and a broad dealer and service network to support sales and aftermarket operations across Europe and in export markets. Manufacturing operations cover major assembly and final-dress plants as well as component machining and engineering centres focused on product development and testing. The company’s dealer network provides local sales, parts and service capability, and many dealerships offer integrated service contracts and fleet-management support. As part of a larger global commercial vehicle group, DAF benefits from shared purchasing, engineering and powertrain resources while maintaining its brand identity and product range tailored to its primary markets. Overall, DAF Trucks is a full-range truck manufacturer whose activities span vehicle design and production, connected fleet services, parts and aftermarket support, and financing solutions. The company’s ongoing priorities include improving total cost of ownership for customers through fuel efficiency and uptime improvements, expanding connected services and fleet analytics, and advancing low-emission vehicle technologies to meet changing regulatory and market demands.
