Job Description

Are you a customer-obsessed builder passionate about helping customers achieve their full potential? Do you have the business acumen and technical pre-sales expertise to help customers evaluate, design, and adopt AWS as their strategic platform for Generative AI and ML workloads? Do you enjoy building impactful AI solutions? Join the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) within the Data & AI Specialists team for Automotive & Manufacturing as a Senior Generative AI & ML Specialist Solutions Architect—a senior individual contributor role requiring deep technical expertise and executive-level customer engagement.
The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of the AWS Specialists and Partners organization, responsible for driving revenue and accelerating adoption of cloud and partner services across private and public sector customers. We work backwards from our customers’ most complex and business-critical challenges to develop and execute go-to-market plans that transform ideas into scalable, high-impact businesses. WWSO teams include business development specialists and technical solution architects. As part of WWSO, you will contribute across the full lifecycle of AWS customer initiatives—from shaping new service and solution concepts to accelerating adoption of established offerings. We pride ourselves on thinking big, delivering exceptional customer outcomes, and collaborating seamlessly across AWS as #OneTeam.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will translate customer business challenges into solutions leveraging AWS. You will define, design, and deploy targeted architectures that accelerate adoption of AWS Generative AI and ML services. You will engage with senior engineers, architects, product leaders, data scientists, and executives at strategic enterprise customers to influence architectural decisions and provide structured feedback to AWS product teams.
AWS collaborates with a range of partners in the AI ecosystem—including leading third-party foundation model providers (e.g., Anthropic, Meta, Mistral, etc.). You will execute joint go-to-market motions with these partners and build proof-of-concepts for AI- and agent-enabled applications.
As the ideal candidate, you bring a deep technical background and the business acumen required to lead complex engagements with large enterprises. You have hands-on expertise in traditional ML concepts as well as emerging areas such as LLMs, RAG, fine-tuning, AI system evaluation, prompt engineering, agents, and AIOps. You are able to credibly advise senior technical and executive stakeholders on architectural trade-offs, risks, and long-term strategy.

Core Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business development colleagues to provide technical input into go-to-market strategy and support field marketing through technical events, campaigns, and customer engagements

- Lead complex technical problem solving to unblock customers’ most critical workloads

- Represent the voice of the customer and collaborate with field and central teams to bring customer feedback to product teams

- Act as a thought leader in Generative AI by sharing best practices through AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, code samples, and public speaking engagements such as AWS Summits and AWS re:Invent

- Guide and support an internal AWS community of technical subject matter experts aligned to your customers, including the creation of field enablement materials for the broader Solution Architect population

AWS EMEA SARL (Switzerland Branch) is the Swiss branch of Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, the regional legal entity through which Amazon Web Services (AWS) conducts commercial and operational activities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). As part of the Amazon group of companies, AWS EMEA SARL (Switzerland Branch) functions to support AWS’s cloud computing customers in Switzerland by providing regional commercial, sales, support, compliance and liaison services that enable Swiss organizations to procure, deploy and operate AWS cloud services while meeting local regulatory and data-residency expectations. The Switzerland Branch operates as an extension of AWS’s global cloud business, adapting global AWS offerings, commercial models and support practices to the requirements of Swiss customers and public-sector entities. Company overview and role AWS EMEA SARL is the EMEA-registered legal entity that represents Amazon Web Services’ business in the EMEA geography. The Switzerland Branch is a registered branch office of that entity and provides localized business operations for Switzerland. As such, the branch is not a separate independent corporate parent but a local manifestation of AWS EMEA SARL’s commercial presence in Switzerland. The branch’s responsibilities typically include local contracting and invoicing for Swiss customers, regional partner engagement, customer support and professional services coordination, regulatory and compliance liaison with Swiss authorities, and facilitating local account management, training and technical enablement. Core business activities The principal business activity of AWS EMEA SARL (Switzerland Branch) is to enable and support the provision of AWS cloud computing services to organizations in Switzerland. This encompasses: - Commercial and contractual operations: providing local contracting options, invoicing, and channel/partner arrangements adapted to Swiss laws and business practices. - Customer support and professional services coordination: offering account management, technical support escalation, and connecting customers to AWS professional services, certified partners and systems integrators active in Switzerland. - Regulatory, compliance and data-residency support: helping customers address Swiss and EU privacy, security and regulatory requirements by explaining AWS compliance certifications, data processing addenda, and options for keeping data within specified geographic boundaries. - Local market development: engaging with public-sector, enterprise and startup communities in Switzerland through trainings, workshops, partner enablement, and joint go-to-market activities. Main products and services supported The Switzerland Branch represents and supports the broad portfolio of AWS cloud services developed and operated by Amazon Web Services globally. Key categories of products and representative services include: - Compute: Amazon EC2 (virtual servers), AWS Lambda (serverless functions), AWS Elastic Beanstalk and container services such as Amazon ECS and Amazon EKS for running and managing containerized applications. - Storage and Content Delivery: Amazon S3 (object storage), Amazon EBS (block storage), Amazon S3 Glacier (archival storage) and Amazon CloudFront (content delivery network). - Databases and Data Stores: Amazon RDS (managed relational databases), Amazon Aurora (MySQL- and PostgreSQL-compatible relational database), Amazon DynamoDB (managed NoSQL), and Amazon Redshift (data warehousing). - Networking and Content Delivery: Amazon VPC for virtual networks, Elastic Load Balancing, AWS Direct Connect for dedicated network connectivity, and various routing and DNS services. - Security, Identity and Compliance: AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Key Management Service (KMS), AWS Shield and AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF), plus broad compliance documentation and tools to support local regulatory requirements. - Analytics, Machine Learning and Big Data: Amazon EMR, AWS Glue, Amazon Athena, Amazon Kinesis and Amazon SageMaker for building, training and deploying machine learning models. - Developer and Management Tools: AWS CloudFormation (infrastructure as code), AWS CloudTrail (audit logging), Amazon CloudWatch (monitoring and observability), and a range of CI/CD and developer tooling services. - Migration, IoT and Edge Services: services and professional guidance to migrate on-premises workloads to AWS, IoT services for device connectivity, and edge computing options. Service model and customer orientation AWS operates under a shared responsibility model for security and compliance: AWS manages the security of the cloud (infrastructure, hardware, global services) while customers are responsible for security in the cloud (application configuration, data protection, identity and access management). The Switzerland Branch supports customers in Switzerland by clarifying those responsibilities, providing documentation and compliance reports, and facilitating local support channels and partner engagements. For customers requiring data residency guarantees, AWS provides region and availability zone controls, and the branch assists with explaining how customers can architect deployments to keep data within specified geographic boundaries. Industry positioning and partnerships AWS is one of the world’s leading cloud infrastructure providers and the Swiss branch operates within that context to support enterprises, public sector bodies, startups and system integrators in Switzerland. The branch works with an ecosystem of local and regional partners—consultancies, managed service providers, independent software vendors and channel partners—that are certified and trained on AWS technologies to deliver implementations, migrations, managed operations and industry-specific solutions. Compliance and certifications AWS publishes a broad array of compliance attestations, certifications and whitepapers that are applicable to customers globally and often referenced by the Switzerland Branch when engaging with regulated Swiss industries. These include international standards and industry-specific certifications and documentation that explain how AWS services can be used to meet regulatory and audit requirements in Switzerland. Summary In summary, AWS EMEA SARL (Switzerland Branch) is the Swiss operational branch of Amazon Web Services’ EMEA legal entity, focused on enabling Swiss organizations to adopt and operate AWS’s portfolio of cloud computing services. The branch facilitates localized commercial relationships, customer support, partner engagement and compliance guidance while AWS global engineering teams operate and continuously develop the underlying cloud services and infrastructure that the Swiss market consumes.
