Job Description

Amazon Mexico’s Consumables Retail team is looking for a data-driven, customer-obsessed, and results-oriented Strategic Supply Chain Manager (SSCM) to join our team.

As an SSCM, you will own the end-to-end supply chain strategy for a Consumables category (e.g., Beauty, Health & Personal Care). This role sits at the intersection of Retail and Operations, where you will optimize how we serve customers more selection, faster, and at lower cost.

You will partner closely with Vendor Management, Supply Chain Excellence, Operations, and Finance to deliver world-class availability and operational efficiency. You will lead cross-functional projects to simplify processes, reduce lead times, and eliminate inefficiencies. Success in this role requires a passion for continuous improvement, as you will be constantly identifying root causes, designing scalable solutions, and driving adoption across teams.

To thrive, you must combine analytical strength, operational understanding, and strong influencing skills to create alignment between business and operations priorities.



Key job responsibilities
Own the inventory strategy and health for your category, ensuring optimal in-stock levels while minimizing aged and excess inventory.

Collaborate with Vendor Managers on demand forecasting, product launches, and promotional planning to deliver growth while protecting operational capacity.

Partner with Operations and Supply Chain Excellence to improve speed-to-customer, streamline inbound processes, and enhance fulfillment efficiency.

Lead cost-to-serve and efficiency initiatives, driving sustainable, scalable improvements to Amazon’s supply chain.

Use data and metrics to diagnose root causes, identify risks, and build long-term solutions that scale.

Influence cross-functional stakeholders to align strategies across Retail, Operations, and Finance, balancing customer experience, speed, and profitability.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, challenging the status quo and championing operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
- 3+ years of data analysis work and leveraging analytics to make decisions experience
- +3 YOE in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- +3 YOE leading and interacting with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with SQL
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
- Experience managing medium to large-scale projects
- 5+ years of with Excel experience
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
