Amazon Web Services EMEA S.à r.l. — Greek Branch is the Greece-registered branch of Amazon Web Services EMEA S.à r.l., the European, Middle Eastern and African legal entity used by Amazon Web Services (AWS) to operate and administer AWS business activities in the EMEA region. Amazon Web Services is the cloud computing arm of Amazon.com and provides on-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs to individuals, companies and governments. AWS was first launched in 2006 and has since grown into a comprehensive portfolio of cloud infrastructure and platform services. The Greek Branch represents the local presence of the AWS EMEA S.à r.l. corporate entity for conducting sales, marketing, local customer engagements, partner relationships, regulatory compliance and certain commercial operations in Greece. Company overview and corporate role The Greek Branch functions as a branch office of the Luxembourg-incorporated AWS EMEA S.à r.l. legal entity and acts to support AWS customers, partners and public-sector organizations in Greece. As a local branch it typically interfaces with Greek enterprises, startups, public administrations and academic institutions to provide access to AWS cloud services, local commercial support, and localized programs. The branch is part of AWS’s broader EMEA organizational footprint, which combines global AWS product and platform capabilities with regional commercial teams, partner ecosystems and compliance resources tailored to European regulatory and market conditions. Core business activities The primary activities associated with the Greek Branch are commercial and customer-facing: selling and contracting AWS cloud services to Greek customers, providing account management and technical pre-sales support through local teams and partners, coordinating professional services and training offerings, and ensuring that local legal, tax and data-residency requirements are addressed in coordination with the EMEA headquarters. The branch facilitates access to AWS service portfolios, supports cloud migration and modernization projects, helps customers architect for reliability, security and cost-efficiency, and connects organizations with the AWS Partner Network (APN) for implementation, managed services and system integration. Main products and services While the underlying cloud infrastructure and software products are developed and operated under the broader AWS organization, customers working through the Greek Branch obtain the full suite of AWS offerings. These include core Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) components such as Amazon EC2 (compute), Amazon S3 (object storage), Amazon EBS (block storage), Amazon RDS and Amazon Aurora (managed relational databases), Amazon DynamoDB (NoSQL databases), Amazon VPC (virtual private cloud networking) and AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) for security controls. Higher-level services available to customers encompass serverless computing with AWS Lambda, container orchestration with Amazon EKS and Amazon ECS, content delivery via Amazon CloudFront, machine learning and AI services including Amazon SageMaker, analytics and big data services like Amazon EMR and Amazon Redshift, developer tools, monitoring and management with Amazon CloudWatch, and infrastructure-as-code and automation tools such as AWS CloudFormation and AWS Systems Manager. Commercial models and customer programs AWS offers multiple pricing and contracting models including pay-as-you-go on-demand pricing, Reserved Instances and Savings Plans for committed usage discounts, Spot Instances for spare capacity, and enterprise support contracts with tiered support plans. The Greek Branch enables access to these commercial models and local billing arrangements consistent with regional tax and legal requirements. The branch also helps connect Greek customers to AWS programs for startups, education, research and public sector (where applicable), and supports local training, certification classes and partner-led workshops to build cloud skills within organizations. Ecosystem, partners and compliance A critical element of the branch’s operations is coordination with the AWS Partner Network (APN), which includes system integrators, managed service providers, independent software vendors (ISVs) and consulting firms that implement and operate AWS solutions locally. The branch engages with partners to deliver migration programs, industry-specific solutions, and managed cloud services. AWS maintains a broad set of compliance attestations, certifications and data-protection controls to meet regional regulatory requirements; the Greek Branch advises local customers about applicable compliance frameworks, data residency options (using AWS Regions and Availability Zones in Europe), and support for government or regulated workloads in collaboration with AWS regional compliance teams. Support, training and professional services The Greek Branch supports customer adoption through combined offerings of AWS Professional Services (global/regional) and partner-delivered consulting and managed services. It also promotes AWS Training and Certification programs that help organizations develop cloud competencies for architects, developers and operations teams. Local events, customer briefings and participation in industry forums are typical activities used to accelerate cloud adoption and share best practices. Strategic positioning and target customers As the local representation of a global cloud provider, the Greek Branch targets a wide range of customers including large enterprises, small and medium businesses, startups, research institutions and public sector organizations that seek to leverage cloud infrastructure for scalability, agility and innovation. The branch’s role is to combine AWS’s global platform capabilities with local market knowledge, partner ecosystems and customer engagement to enable cloud transformations across industries such as financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, manufacturing, media and public administration. Official digital presence Customers and prospective users in Greece and elsewhere access product documentation, pricing, regional services information, developer resources, and support channels through the AWS official global website. The Greek Branch complements the global online presence with localized sales and partner engagement activities.
