Amazon France Logistique SAS is the French logistics and fulfillment legal entity associated with Amazon’s operations in France. As a commercially organized subsidiary within the wider Amazon corporate group, the company is responsible for the physical handling, warehousing, order fulfillment and distribution functions that support Amazon’s retail marketplace and online storefronts serving customers in France and nearby European markets. Amazon France Logistique SAS performs core operational tasks required to receive, store, pick, pack, prepare and ship customer orders, and to process returns, working in conjunction with Amazon’s broader transportation and delivery networks as well as external carrier and last‑mile partners. Company overview and role: Amazon France Logistique SAS functions as the operating arm for Amazon’s logistics footprint in France. Its remit centers on running and managing fulfillment center activities and logistics services that enable fast delivery and order accuracy for millions of consumer purchases placed through Amazon’s platforms. The entity coordinates with Amazon’s central technology and supply‑chain teams to implement inventory management systems, warehouse management software, automation and robotics where appropriate, and process‑control systems that connect online orders to physical stock and shipments. In practice, the company’s responsibilities typically include inbound receipt and storage of goods from merchants and suppliers; inventory control and replenishment; order assembly (picking and packing); labeling and shipment staging; outbound transport coordination; and returns handling and disposition. Core business activities and operational scope: The company’s main activities consist of operating fulfillment centers and related logistics facilities, providing warehousing and distribution services tailored to e‑commerce flows, and integrating these physical capabilities with Amazon’s digital commerce and logistics platforms. Key operational functions performed under Amazon France Logistique SAS include: - Receiving and inbound logistics: managing supplier deliveries, quality checks, and stocking of merchandise into fulfillment center systems. - Inventory management: maintaining inventory records, cycle counting, and stock replenishment processes to support order accuracy and availability. - Order fulfillment: picking, packing and preparing consumer orders for shipment across a broad range of product categories, sized and configured to meet specific delivery requirements. - Outbound shipping and carrier coordination: preparing shipments for handoff to carriers, coordinating scheduled dispatches, and integrating tracking information with customer interfaces. - Reverse logistics and returns processing: receiving returned items, evaluating disposition (restock, refurbish, recycle, or disposal), and updating inventory and financial records. - Facility operations and workforce management: staffing, health and safety compliance, process optimization and local labor relations for large operations that employ distribution, maintenance and administrative personnel. Technology and systems integration: While the company’s visible activities are physical and operational, Amazon France Logistique SAS is closely integrated with Amazon’s technology stack and logistics orchestration systems. These typically include warehouse management systems, real‑time inventory and order tracking, routing and carrier selection tools, and data analytics to optimize throughput, space utilization and delivery performance. Amazon’s investments in automation—such as material‑handling equipment, conveyance systems and robotic assistance—are implemented at scale across fulfillment sites to increase productivity and safety; the subsidiary applies these tools in its French facilities as part of broader group modernization programs. Services offered and value proposition: The services provided by Amazon France Logistique SAS enable both Amazon’s first‑party retail operations and third‑party sellers using Amazon’s marketplace to benefit from integrated logistics. For marketplace sellers, fulfillment services typically provide storage, order fulfillment, customer service for shipping, and returns handling, which allow merchants to offer faster delivery options to customers without building their own warehousing networks. For end customers, the logistical operations conducted by the company are designed to support a wide range of delivery speed options—from standard parcel delivery to expedited and same‑day windows—depending on the product, location and service level selected at checkout. Commercial relationships and network: Amazon France Logistique SAS operates as part of a larger European logistics ecosystem and works together with regional transportation partners, local delivery service providers, and Amazon’s in‑house transport network. The company’s facilities and processes interface with carrier networks for last‑mile delivery, cross‑dock hubs for long‑distance transport, and marketplace seller logistics channels. It also liaises with local authorities and complies with French regulatory and employment frameworks that govern warehouse operations, transportation, and workplace safety. Regulatory, employment and community aspects: As a large employer in the logistics sector within France, the company’s operations touch on employment practices, workplace safety, and local economic impacts typical of distribution center activity. Facilities managed under the Amazon logistics entity are subject to national labor regulations, occupational safety standards, and applicable environmental and planning requirements. Amazon and its logistics entities publicly report on investments in local infrastructure and workforce development initiatives in France through Amazon’s corporate communications channels and regional corporate responsibility reports. Limitations and scope of this description: The information above describes the typical functions and public facing role of the Amazon France Logistique SAS legal entity as the logistics/fulfillment operator for Amazon in France. It summarizes observable and verifiable operational responsibilities—warehouse and fulfillment services, integration with Amazon’s technology and transport networks, and coordination with carriers and marketplace sellers—without asserting particulars about specific facility locations, registration details, or internal financials that are not sourced here. For formal legal, registration or up‑to‑date operational details (such as exact registered address, corporate filings, leadership or annual accounts) consult the company’s filings with French commercial registries or the official Amazon France corporate web presence.
