Als Automation Engineer sorgst Du dafür, dass unsere automatisierten Systeme optimal funktionieren, damit Kund:innen ihre Bestellungen rechtzeitig erhalten. Du untersuchst verschiedene Daten – von Steuersystemen bis hin zu Sensoren – und nutzt Deine Erkenntnisse, um die Verfügbarkeit von Equipment an unseren Standorten zu maximieren. In dieser Rolle nutzt Du die neuen Technologien von Amazon zur Lösung komplexer Herausforderungen in puncto Produktivität.

Key job responsibilities
- Überwachung, Fehlerbehebung und Reparatur bei Problemen mit wichtigen Systemen
- Arbeit im Rahmen des EU-Kontrollnetzes zur Überwachung der Kennzahlen von Materialtransportausrüstung
- Erstellung von Datenvisualisierungen der Fehlerbehebung für interne Stakeholder
- Verantwortung für vom EU-Kontrollnetz geführte Projekte zur kontinuierlichen Verbesserung oder aktive Teilnahme an solchen Projekten
- Zusammenarbeit mit unterschiedlichen Abteilungen, um die korrekte Dokumentation aller Systeme und die Pflege akkurater Sicherungskopien sicherzustellen
- Zusammenarbeit mit Kolleg:innen im ganzen Unternehmen bei der Installation und Inbetriebnahme neuer Geräte
- Unterstützung anderer Standorte im EU-Kontrollnetz je nach Bedarf
- Interpretation von Maschinen- und Elektrogeräteskizzen und Entwicklung von Verbesserungsstrategien für IEC-61131-3-konformen Code

Als Automation Engineer bist Du an Deinem Standort als Expert:in für den reibungslosen Betrieb der automatisierten Systeme zuständig. Du arbeitest mit automatisierten Geräten, von Förderbändern bis hin zu Sortiersystemen, und sorgst dafür, dass sie einwandfrei funktionieren. Du koordinierst die Aktivitäten zur Behebung von Fehlern oder zur Umsetzung von Verbesserungsmaßnahmen.
Zudem gibst Du Dein Fachwissen an Deine Kolleg:innen weiter. Du sorgst dafür, dass die Engineering Technicians in Deinem Team laufend über die Fehlerbehebung an Geräten sowie vorbeugende Wartungsmaßnahmen informiert und geschult werden, damit Dein Team unsere Automationssysteme funktionstüchtig hält.

About the team
Unser Wartungs- und Instandhaltungsteam (Reliability Maintenance Engineering Team oder RME-Team) sorgt dafür, dass unsere Geräte und Ausstattung jederzeit optimal funktionieren. Wir sind ein Team von Techniker:innen und Ingenieur:innen, das aus hervorragenden Teamplayern besteht und von erfahrenen Führungskräften geleitet wird. Wir arbeiten gemeinsam daran, die Geräte in unserem gesamten globalen Netzwerk von Fulfillment-Centern zu warten, zu reparieren und ihre Fehler zu beheben. Einige unserer Mitarbeiter:innen sind Führungskräfte, die das Team bei der Arbeit an spannender, innovativer Technologie beaufsichtigen – die es teilweise nur bei Amazon gibt.

Von der Installation automatisierter Verpackungssysteme bis hin zur Beaufsichtigung der allgemeinen Wartungsarbeiten eines Standorts sowie der Reparatur von für den Vertrieb wesentlichen Geräten wickelt unser Team einen Großteil der technischen Aufgaben bei Amazon ab. Unter anderem sorgt es auch dafür, dass Gebäude weiterhin den rechtlichen Auflagen entsprechen, damit alle sicher bleiben und unsere Standorte mit maximaler Effizienz betrieben werden. Es gibt zahlreiche Aufstiegschancen im RME-Team selbst ebenso wie im gesamten Amazon-Unternehmen.
Alle unsere Aktivitäten sind darauf ausgerichtet, die Ausfallzeiten an Amazons wichtigsten Betriebsstandorten zu reduzieren, damit Kund:innen ihre Bestellungen rechtzeitig erhalten. Oft arbeiten wir früh morgens, spät abends oder in der Nachtschicht, um Wartungsarbeiten mit den geringstmöglichen Störungen vorzunehmen. Falls wir eine bessere Möglichkeit finden, eine bestimmte Aufgabe zu erledigen, verfügen wir über die Fertigkeiten und Gelegenheiten, vollständig neue Prozesse oder bahnbrechende Technologie wie Amazon Robotics oder unseren Complex Item Sorter einzuführen.

Basic Qualifications

- Staatlich geprüfte:r Techniker:in, Ausbildung/Lehre als Elektrofachkraft mit praktischer Erfahrung oder Ausbildung als Industriemeister:in (zwei Jahre mit paralleler Arbeitserfahrung) sowie vier Jahre Arbeitserfahrung im Bereich Automation
- Erfahrung mit SPS-gesteuerter Automation und Fehlerdiagnostik für laufende Prozesse oder in einer aktiven Produktionsumgebung
- Erfahrung in der Wartung unterschiedlicher Förder- und Sortiersysteme
- Erfahrung im Umgang mit Materialtransport, Durchlauf- und Kapazitätsvisualisierung und Überwachung
- Erfahrung mit mindestens einem der Folgenden:
- Microsoft Office, Projektmanagementtools und EPLAN
- Kontaktplan und Strukturprogrammierung von Siemens, Allen-Brady oder Codesys SPS
- Ignition SCADA oder einer ähnlichen Plattform sowie Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstelle (MMS)
- EthernetIP, Profinet, Profibus und AS-i oder anderen Feldbus-Netzwerken
- Frequenzumrichter, Sicherheitsgateways sowie Ein- und Ausgabegeräten
- Fortgeschrittene Englisch- und Deutschkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift

Preferred Qualifications

- Abschluss in Informatik, Elektroenergietechnik, Industrieelektronik oder einem anderen technischen Fachgebiet
- Arbeitserfahrung im Rahmen der Normen ISO 13849 und ISO 62061
- Erfahrung in der Betreuung von mehreren Standorten gleichzeitig
- Projektmanagementerfahrung mit unterschiedlichen Modellen wie Wasserfall und agilen Methoden
- Erfahrung mit Six Sigma, Datenanalyse oder Prozessverbesserungsmethodiken
