Job Description

Trusted by more startups around the world, AWS makes the power of cloud computing accessible for all by giving founders everywhere access to the same technology that powers the world’s largest companies. With nearly 20 years of experience gained from supporting hundreds of thousands of startups that have come before, we help founders prove that their world-changing ideas are possible, at any stage of growth or level of funding. This is why more startups, and over 80% of unicorns, build on AWS.

As AWS continues to rapidly grow, we seek a Startup Account Manager to earn trust and help drive growth amongst a set of well-funded, high-potential startups.

Startups, represent a critically important subset of customers to AWS. These companies have unique needs, technical considerations, sales cycles, and growth trajectories that distinguish them from traditional companies. These businesses require different engagement strategies and sales motions from sellers to effectively acquire, grow, and retain them on the AWS platform long-term.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong sales acumen, knowledge of the startup ecosystem, a passion for (and familiarity with) AI/ML. You will be working with startups building innovative solutions, so extensive collaboration with external contacts and internal teams will be key to build and execute on plans to meet and exceed sales quota. Your responsibilities will include driving revenue, crafting partnerships, accelerating innovation through service adoption, and ensuring these startups select AWS as their primary cloud provider.

You will align closely with counterparts in business development, marketing, solution architecture and partner teams to lead execution of coordinated go-to-market strategies and sales plays. You will also work closely with business development teams who are driving strategic support, global co-programming, and portfolio engagement to help drive top-of-funnel customer acquisition and accelerate seller cycles in the field.

Key job responsibilities
- Ensure customer success with early and mid stage startups across Indonesia
- Drive revenue and market share in a defined territory or industry vertical
- Accelerate customer adoption through well-developed sales engagements and successful GTM Strategy
- Meet or exceed quarterly revenue and goal targets.
- Develop and execute against a comprehensive account/territory plan.
- Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services.
- Accelerate customer adoption by engaging Founders, CxO, Board of Directors and VC influencers
- Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption.
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts.
- Expect moderate travel.

Company Information

Company Name: PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia

Company Website: https://aws.amazon.com/

Company Address: Jakarta, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia

PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia is the Indonesian legal entity associated with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the global cloud computing arm of Amazon.com. As the localized corporate presence of AWS in Indonesia, PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia supports the deployment, sales, customer engagement, partner relationships, and localized operations for AWS cloud services within the country. The company represents AWS’s internationally marketed portfolio of cloud infrastructure and platform services to Indonesian enterprises, public sector organizations, startups, and independent software vendors, enabling customers to build, deploy, and operate applications and digital services at scale. Core business activities for PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia center on providing access to AWS’s public cloud platform, supporting customers in migration to the cloud, delivering professional services and technical guidance, and facilitating compliance with local regulatory and data-residency requirements through AWS’s regional infrastructure. The entity supports usage of the Asia Pacific (Jakarta) Region (ap-southeast-3) and related local endpoints, which provide compute, storage, database, networking, analytics, machine learning, security and identity services from data centers located in Indonesia. By offering locally available infrastructure, the company helps reduce latency for users in Indonesia, enables customers to keep data within national borders when needed for regulatory compliance, and provides local points of contact for commercial, technical and account support. PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia’s main product and service offerings reflect the broader AWS portfolio. These include infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) components such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) for on-demand virtual servers; block, object and file storage services including Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS); and networking services such as Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Elastic Load Balancing, and Amazon Route 53. Platform services and managed offerings supported through the local entity include managed database services like Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon DynamoDB (managed NoSQL), and Amazon Aurora; container and orchestration services such as Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS); and serverless compute options including AWS Lambda. Beyond compute and storage, PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia enables access to analytics, big data and artificial intelligence/machine learning services from AWS. This encompasses Amazon EMR (Hadoop/Spark), Amazon Redshift (data warehousing), AWS Glue (ETL), Amazon Athena (query service), and AWS analytics integrations. For AI/ML, customers can use Amazon SageMaker for model building and deployment, along with pre-built AI services for vision, language, and personalization. Security, identity and compliance services—such as AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Key Management Service (KMS), AWS CloudTrail, and AWS Shield—are part of the offerings supported for Indonesian customers to meet governance and operational security requirements. PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia also supports AWS’s commercial and enablement programs in the local market. This includes the AWS Partner Network (APN), which certifies and collaborates with local system integrators, managed service providers, and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to deliver solutions built on AWS; AWS Training and Certification to upskill IT professionals; AWS Professional Services and certified consulting partners for cloud migrations and architecture design; startup-focused programs such as AWS Activate; and marketplace channels such as AWS Marketplace for third-party software deployment. The local entity typically facilitates these programs by providing sales, account management, technical enablement, local events, and partner development specific to Indonesia. PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia’s role is primarily operational, commercial and customer-facing within the Indonesian market rather than as a separate product developer; it acts as the regional representative and contracting entity for AWS services in-country. The company helps Indonesian organizations leverage AWS’s global footprint, tools and best practices while addressing local needs such as data residency, regulatory compliance, localization of support, language considerations, and procurement. Customers in sectors such as finance, telecommunications, government, education, healthcare and media often engage PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia for cloud infrastructure, digital transformation projects, secure data storage, scalable application hosting and analytics at scale. Official materials from Amazon and AWS describe the organization as a cloud services provider offering a broad set of on-demand cloud computing and related services. PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia operates within that scope to deliver access to AWS’s extensive catalog of services, local commercial and technical support, and partner and training ecosystems in Indonesia. For detailed, up-to-date information about specific services, regional availability, compliance certifications, partner programs and support options, AWS’s official public website and its Indonesia-specific pages provide authoritative documentation, region details and contact channels.
