Amazon Italia Logistica S.R.L. is an Italian limited liability company (Società a responsabilità limitata) that functions as the logistics and fulfillment arm of Amazon’s operations in Italy. As a national subsidiary within the broader Amazon group, the company is established to operate and manage physical logistics infrastructure and services that support amazon.it and Amazon’s marketplace sellers active in Italy. Amazon Italia Logistica S.R.L. is organized to provide the warehousing, inventory management, order processing, packing, shipping and returns-handling capabilities required to deliver e-commerce orders to consumers and business customers across Italy and to link Italian operations into Amazon’s wider European distribution network. Company overview Amazon Italia Logistica S.R.L. is structured as an operational logistics entity within Amazon’s corporate family, formed to run and scale the physical flow of goods for Amazon’s retail and marketplace operations in Italy. As an S.r.l., it is a locally registered entity that directly employs people who work in Amazon-operated facilities in Italy and contracts with local and national delivery partners and carriers. The entity’s activities are focused on the physical stages of e-commerce fulfillment: receiving goods from vendors and third-party sellers, storing inventory, picking and packing individual customer orders, coordinating outbound shipments, and processing returned items. Core business activities The company’s principal business activities center on all phases of e-commerce order fulfillment and last-mile logistics. These activities include: - Receiving and inbound logistics: intake and quality checks for items arriving from manufacturers, distributors and third-party sellers, and managing inbound transportation into Amazon-operated facilities. - Warehousing and inventory management: storage of retail and marketplace inventory across multiple fulfillment and sortation sites in Italy, maintaining stock records, replenishment and slotting to support efficient picking. - Order fulfillment and packing: picking customer orders from inventory, packaging orders to Amazon standards, and preparing shipments for handoff to carriers or Amazon’s delivery network. - Outbound shipping and distribution: coordinating parcel flow from fulfillment centers to sortation centers and delivery stations, scheduling carrier collections and managing shipment tracking. - Returns processing and reverse logistics: receiving returned items, inspecting and processing returns, and restocking or dispositioning merchandise according to condition and policy. - Support for marketplace services: enabling Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) services for third-party sellers, where the company stores seller inventory and handles fulfillment, customer service and returns on behalf of sellers who opt into Amazon’s fulfillment programs. - Coordination with last-mile delivery partners: working with national carriers, local couriers and Amazon’s own delivery services to complete final-mile delivery to consumers. Main products and services Amazon Italia Logistica S.R.L. does not sell consumer-facing products in the traditional sense; rather, it supplies logistics and fulfillment services that make Amazon’s retail and marketplace offerings operational in Italy. Key services delivered by the company include: - Fulfillment as a service for Amazon retail and marketplace sellers (storage, order processing, packaging and shipment). This includes the execution of Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) offerings available to sellers using Amazon’s platform in Italy. - Warehouse management and inventory control, including processes to maximize order accuracy and throughput within fulfillment facilities. - Parcel sorting and distribution services that route shipments across regional networks and prepare parcels for last-mile delivery. - Returns handling and refurbishment or restocking services for returned merchandise. - Operational integration with Amazon’s logistics technology stack — including warehouse management systems, automated material handling tools, and real-time tracking systems — to provide end-to-end visibility and control over inventory and shipments. - Services to support peak season scaling and temporary capacity expansion, enabling rapid response to seasonal changes in order volume. Operational context and integration Amazon Italia Logistica S.R.L. operates within Amazon’s global logistics and fulfillment ecosystem. The company’s facilities, teams and partners in Italy are integrated with Amazon’s broader European distribution and delivery network, enabling cross-border flows of goods and harmonized fulfillment processes for sellers who serve multiple markets. Its operations are supported by Amazon’s logistics technology, data systems, and operational best practices to optimize order cycle times, accuracy and customer delivery experience. The company also works with a network of local delivery partners and independent contractors to provide last-mile delivery capacity in urban and rural areas across Italy. Regulatory and corporate form As indicated by the legal suffix “S.R.L.”, Amazon Italia Logistica operates as an Italian limited liability company under Italian corporate law and is subject to national regulations that govern employment, safety, environmental compliance and commercial activity. Its role is primarily operational and service-oriented within the commerce value chain, rather than retail merchandising or consumer marketing. Summary In summary, Amazon Italia Logistica S.R.L. is the Amazon group’s dedicated logistics and fulfillment subsidiary in Italy, delivering warehousing, order fulfillment, inventory management, returns processing and distribution services that enable amazon.it and Amazon marketplace sellers to serve Italian consumers. The company’s work is focused on the physical movement and handling of goods, integration with Amazon’s logistics technology, and collaboration with delivery partners to complete last-mile delivery across Italy.
