Company Website: https://www.amazon.com.au

Company Address: AUS, NSW, Horsley Park

Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd is an Australian proprietary limited company operating as a commercial and operational arm of the global Amazon group within Australia. As a legal entity registered in Australia, it is used by Amazon to carry out a range of commercial, marketplace and customer-facing activities under the Amazon brand within the Australian market. The company functions as part of the broader Amazon organization and is involved in facilitating retail commerce, supporting third-party sellers, and delivering logistics- and technology-enabled services that underpin Amazon’s consumer and business offerings in Australia. Company overview Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd serves as an onshore corporate entity through which Amazon provides and manages a suite of e-commerce and commercial services in Australia. It is one of several Amazon legal entities established in-country to support local marketplace operations, commercial agreements, procurement arrangements, and seller- and enterprise-facing programs. The company’s activities are integrated with Amazon’s global platforms and local Amazon Australia operations (commonly accessed via amazon.com.au), enabling Amazon to contract with Australian suppliers, sellers, buyers and business customers in compliance with local regulation and business practice. Core business activities The core activities associated with Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd center on enabling and operating commercial e-commerce and related services in Australia. These activities typically include: facilitating the online retail marketplace (listing, transaction processing and marketplace facilitation); supporting third-party sellers through seller onboarding, account management and seller tools; providing fulfillment and logistics services (including services commonly marketed under the Fulfillment by Amazon/FBA model, where Amazon stores, picks, packs and ships inventory for sellers); operating consumer-facing retail offerings (including retail sales of first-party items and facilitation of third-party sales); and delivering Amazon Business services for procurement and B2B sales. In addition to marketplace and fulfillment functions, the company’s commercial remit commonly encompasses business-to-business contracting for advertising and promotional services (Amazon Advertising), payment processing and financial settlement for sellers, and localized customer service operations. These activities are supported by Amazon’s technology platforms and operational processes to enable order management, returns processing, customer support, and seller performance monitoring. Main products and services As an operational entity within the Amazon ecosystem in Australia, Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd is associated with the following principal products and service categories commonly offered to consumers, sellers and business customers: - Online retail marketplace operations: Enabling Amazon.com.au to offer millions of product listings from Amazon retail inventory and third-party sellers, operating the online storefront, product discovery, pricing and promotions. - Seller services and marketplace facilitation: Onboarding and supporting third-party sellers, providing seller-facing tools (inventory management, reporting, pricing tools) and managing marketplace policies and performance frameworks. - Fulfillment and logistics services: Offering warehousing, inventory management, fulfillment, and last-mile logistics solutions (including services branded as Fulfillment by Amazon) to sellers who use Amazon’s distribution network. - Business procurement and Amazon Business services: Supporting institutional and corporate procurement through Amazon Business offerings that provide purchasing, invoicing and account management features tailored for business customers. - Advertising and marketing solutions: Facilitating Amazon Advertising placements and promotional programs that allow vendors and sellers to advertise products on Amazon’s properties. - Consumer subscription and membership services: Providing access to subscription-based offerings where applicable (for example, Amazon Prime benefits sold in the Australian market via Amazon.com.au), including fast/shipping-related benefits and member-only promotions. - Customer service and after-sales support: Managing customer inquiries, returns, refunds and dispute resolution processes for retail orders placed through Amazon’s Australian storefront. Industry positioning and technology role Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd operates at the intersection of e-commerce, retail technology, logistics and digital advertising, aligning with Amazon’s global identity as a technology-driven retail and services company. The entity supports the deployment of Amazon’s software platforms, data systems and operational technology in Australia to enable scalable online commerce, marketplace analytics, fulfillment automation and seller enablement tools. While Amazon’s cloud computing arm (Amazon Web Services) and other specialized business units may operate under different legal entities, Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd plays a direct role in the consumer- and seller-facing commercial ecosystem in Australia. Relationship to the broader Amazon organization This Australian company is one of multiple locally incorporated entities that allow the Amazon group to operate compliantly within Australia’s legal and regulatory framework. It is typically used to contract with local sellers, vendors, corporate customers and service providers, to manage local commercial terms and to enable localized operations that reflect Australian consumer protection and taxation requirements. Its activities are closely integrated with Amazon’s global platforms, processes and branding, and it supports the delivery of services that are visible to Australian consumers and business customers through Amazon’s public websites and applications. Limitations and scope Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd should be understood as a corporate operating entity within the Amazon group rather than as an independently branded product company. Specific lines of business and product responsibilities may be split across multiple Amazon legal entities in Australia depending on regulatory, tax and operational requirements (for example, cloud infrastructure and certain corporate services are typically provided by other Amazon subsidiaries). For the most authoritative and up-to-date statements of the company’s role, services and regulatory filings, consult Australian corporate registries, official Amazon corporate disclosures or the Amazon Australia website.
