Job Description

Amazon Mexico is recruiting for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join its fast growing Retail business. Working within the Retail Finance team, you will have full ownership of the P&L Account of the divisions you will be supporting. You will partner closely with the retail team, finance and other business groups, to support and monitor the consumer business’ strategic, financial and operational plans.

This will be a highly visible and varied role, in which the job holder will have the ability to bring new ideas to the business, interact with senior leaders and help influence the direction and decision making of the Retail business.

Key job responsibilities
• Own and manage the transactional division, responsible for CP accuracy and transactional tools, ensuring accurate and timely data processing and reporting
• Partner with retail finance manager to close the CP to COGNOS gap, implementing solutions that enhance data integrity and reporting accuracy
• Support ISF One team initiatives to standardize and automate processes
• Create queries, reports, and dashboards that facilitate financial analysis and decision-making
• Lead digital transformation initiatives within finance, implementing innovative tools and technologies to enhance analytical capabilities
• Drive GenAI adoption across finance functions, identifying use cases and implementing AI-powered solutions for financial analysis and reporting
• Conduct complex data analysis to support strategic decision making, financial planning, and business performance evaluation
• Collaborate with Finance teams to identify financial insights and optimization opportunities

A day in the life
This represents a digital transformation leadership position within the FS&T team, responsible for driving innovative financial solutions and analytical capabilities while owning the transactional division. This position focuses on leveraging technologies, including Gen AI adoption and Business Intelligence integration, to enhance our financial analysis and reporting capabilities. The role serves as a service arm for finance, providing analytical support and strategic insights into various business units while establishing new standards for data-driven financial decision making and ensuring accuracy and reliability in transactional data.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred Qualifications

- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
