The WHS Data-Tech team is hiring a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our cross-functional organization. WHS Data-Tech delivers technology solutions and data insights that help reduce workplace risks and injuries at Amazon. Our technology landscape includes web applications built using native AWS technologies, device-software hybrid solutions leveraging generative AI, computer vision, sensors and IoT technologies, as well as comprehensive data infrastructure and analytics solutions.

This TPM role will lead cross-organizational workstreams spanning both data and technology initiatives for the WHS Organization. As a Technical Program Manager at WHS Data-Tech, you will partner closely with product, data engineering, software development, and data science teams to drive strategy implementation and execution. The role requires collaboration across Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and Software Development teams to deliver optimal solutions through efficient resource allocation and technology utilization. You will create compelling business cases for project prioritization and investment decisions, proactively assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, navigate tradeoffs, and balance business needs against technical constraints.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead and manage cross-functional programs and projects from inception to completion across multiple engineering teams (data engineering, software development, and data science), ensuring delivery of high-quality, efficient, secure, testable, and maintainable solutions with minimal defects
- Own program status communication by consistently delivering clear and concise summaries to leadership and management teams, effectively answering detailed questions about program progress and outcomes
- Partner with technical teams to drive execution of strategic initiatives spanning data infrastructure, analytics solutions, AI/ML applications, and software products
- Proactively assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, navigate tradeoffs, and balance business needs against technical constraints across both data and technology workstreams
- Transform raw thoughts and complex technical concepts into clear, consistent, and accurate technical documentation and direction
- Improve team processes, metrics, and operational efficiencies to unblock delivery, accelerate innovation, reduce costs, and enhance quality
- Develop compelling business cases for project prioritization and investment decisions, in pursuit of roadmap development
- Partner with data engineering, business intelligence, and software development managers to secure resources, scope engineering efforts, set project priorities and milestones, and drive delivery to meet program goals and deadlines
- Coordinate across technical domains including data pipelines, analytics platforms, generative AI solutions, computer vision applications, and web/mobile technologies

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience
- 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
