Company Address: Viale Monte Grappa 3/5,20124 Milano (MI), Italy

Amazon Italia Transport S.r.l. is an Italian limited‑liability company established to provide transportation and delivery services that support Amazon’s e‑commerce operations in Italy. Operating as part of Amazon’s broader European logistics and transport network, the company focuses on the movement of goods between Amazon fulfillment centers, line‑haul distribution hubs, regional sortation centers and last‑mile delivery nodes, enabling the fulfillment of online customer orders placed on Amazon’s Italian marketplace and related EU channels. As a transport specialist within the Amazon group, Amazon Italia Transport S.r.l. coordinates and manages freight operations, carrier contracts and vehicle fleets, and integrates these physical logistics activities with Amazon’s digital order‑management, routing and tracking systems. Core business activities conducted by Amazon Italia Transport S.r.l. include domestic freight and parcel transportation, line‑haul coordination between distribution points, local distribution to last‑mile carriers and delivery partners, and operational support for returns handling and reverse logistics. The company typically organizes the movement of goods using a combination of company‑operated vehicles and third‑party carriers, optimizing capacity and routing to meet Amazon service promises such as next‑day or priority delivery options where offered. In addition to moving parcels, the company’s remit commonly covers the scheduling and management of dock operations at fulfillment and sortation centers, coordination with third‑party delivery providers (including independent delivery contractors and local carrier networks), and operational compliance with local road transport and safety regulations. A technology‑enabled approach is a central element of Amazon Italia Transport S.r.l.’s operations. The company operates with digital tools for shipment planning, real‑time tracking, route optimization, load planning and performance analytics. These systems are designed to integrate with Amazon’s order and inventory platforms so that transport capacity aligns with customer demand and warehouse throughput. Tracking and scanning technologies deployed across shipments provide visibility to both Amazon operations teams and, where applicable, to customers via Amazon’s consumer interfaces. Data‑driven operational monitoring is used to manage delivery time windows, reduce delays, and measure carrier and partner performance against service level objectives. Main services offered or coordinated by Amazon Italia Transport S.r.l. encompass: line‑haul transport services connecting Amazon’s national and regional facilities; regional distribution and sortation services to prepare parcels for last‑mile delivery; coordination and operational management of last‑mile delivery partners and local carrier networks; return logistics and handling for customer returns; and specialized handling and scheduling for time‑sensitive or high‑priority shipments. The company may also be responsible for managing commercial relationships with local carriers, negotiating contracts for transport capacity, and contracting independent delivery operators or partner courier companies to execute final deliveries to customers’ addresses. The company’s role in the Amazon ecosystem is primarily operational and service‑oriented, enabling the physical movement of goods sold on Amazon platforms. It typically acts as a single focus point for transport and freight operations within Italy, working closely with Amazon’s fulfillment, sortation and customer service organizations to synchronize inventory flows and maintain the delivery experience expected by Amazon customers. By consolidating transport functions under a dedicated legal entity in Italy, Amazon aims to streamline operational accountability, regulatory compliance and commercial interactions with local transport providers and authorities. Labour and operational practices for entities such as Amazon Italia Transport S.r.l. generally include the employment or engagement of logistics managers, fleet coordinators, route planners, operations analysts and safety/compliance personnel. The company’s activities are subject to Italian transport and labor regulations; therefore, it commonly incorporates operational controls for driver safety, vehicle maintenance and hours‑of‑service compliance. Coordination with municipal authorities and local planning is also a regular part of operations, particularly in congested urban centers where last‑mile delivery requires permits, time‑window planning and sometimes specialized vehicle types. Sustainability and efficiency considerations are typically embedded in the transport strategy. This includes measures to improve load consolidation, reduce empty miles through backhauls or shared capacity, and the adoption of more efficient routing and scheduling algorithms to lower fuel consumption and emissions. Where applicable within Amazon’s broader corporate programs, local transport entities in Italy participate in initiatives to electrify delivery vehicles, trial zero‑emission urban delivery modes, and optimize packaging and delivery density to reduce environmental impact. Amazon Italia Transport S.r.l. interfaces with a wide range of stakeholders: internal Amazon teams (warehouse, sortation, customer service, and supply chain planning), third‑party carriers and local courier partners, vehicle fleet suppliers, and regulatory authorities. Its operations contribute directly to the consumer experience on Amazon’s Italian marketplace by helping to meet delivery speed commitments, improving delivery predictability, and managing the logistics costs associated with e‑commerce fulfillment. While the company is operationally focused on transport and logistics in Italy, its activities are integrated with Amazon’s pan‑European transport network to support cross‑border flows and to respond to seasonal or demand‑driven fluctuations in volume.
