Job Description

Join Amazon's Legal Department as a Contracts Manager supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS), where you'll manage the complete lifecycle of contracts for our global data center infrastructure. You'll work on high-impact agreements spanning design, construction, operations, maintenance, and security—directly influencing how we scale cloud computing infrastructure worldwide.

Key job responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a high volume of contracts across diverse data center activities, including general contractor agreements, engineering and design vendor contracts, operations and maintenance service agreements, work orders, change orders, and related ancillary agreements
- Provide day-to-day legal and commercial guidance to business stakeholders on projects, negotiations, vendor management, and internal and external communications
- Partner with cross-functional teams including construction, procurement, engineering, operations, security, and finance to anticipate needs, assess and manage risk, and deliver timely, actionable support
- Identify and implement process improvements that enable scalable, efficient contract management, including standardization measures and elimination of repetitive or low-risk work
- Drive efficiency improvements through workflow automation, standardization, and cross-functional alignment, while evaluating and adopting legal technology and AI tools to enhance quality, speed, and scalability

A day in the life
As a Contracts Manager supporting AWS data center infrastructure, you'll engage with a diverse portfolio of contracting work. Your day might include reviewing and negotiating general contractor agreements, engineering design vendor contracts, operations and maintenance service agreements, and security-related work orders. You'll collaborate with procurement, finance, engineering, construction, operations, and security teams to understand their needs and provide timely legal guidance. Beyond individual contract reviews, you'll identify opportunities to streamline our contracting processes, implement automation solutions, and champion the adoption of legal technology tools that help us work more efficiently at scale.

We support the teams responsible for building and maintaining AWS data center infrastructure globally. Our mission is to enable rapid, compliant growth of AWS's physical infrastructure while managing risk effectively. We work closely with business stakeholders across multiple functions—from construction and engineering to operations and security—to ensure contracts support their objectives and protect Amazon's interests. You'll be part of a collaborative legal team that values proactive partnership, creative problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts
- 5+ years of contracts management experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with construction, design, facilities management, operations, maintenance, or physical security contracts
- Prior in-house experience supporting global teams at a technology company or large-scale infrastructure organization.
- Experience managing outside counsel engagements, including budget oversight and performance evaluation
- Proficiency in contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms or legal operations technology
- Experience using and evaluating AI-powered legal tools for contract review, analysis, or management

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
