Company Information

Company Name: AWS EMEA SARL (Spain Branch)

Company Website: https://aws.amazon.com

Company Address: Paseo de la Castellana, 77, 28046 Madrid, Spain

AWS EMEA SARL (Spain Branch) is the Spanish branch of Amazon Web Services (AWS) operating under the corporate entity Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL. Amazon Web Services is the cloud computing division of Amazon.com, Inc., and AWS EMEA SARL is the legal entity that Amazon uses to coordinate AWS activities across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The Spain Branch functions as a local office and operational presence of that EMEA legal entity, providing customers and partners in Spain with direct access to AWS sales, technical support, professional services, account management, partner engagement, and localized commercial and compliance capabilities. Company overview and role: As a branch of AWS EMEA SARL, the Spain Branch serves Spanish enterprises, public sector organizations, startups, and system integrators that adopt AWS cloud services. The branch facilitates localized customer onboarding, contracting and billing in accordance with Spanish and EU rules, regional partner enablement, and localized technical and commercial support. It acts as the operational interface between AWS’s global service platform and local customers, helping to coordinate account management, solutions architecture, training, and certification programs tailored to the Spanish market. Core business activities: The Spain Branch’s primary activities reflect AWS’s global cloud business model: offering pay-as-you-go access to on-demand computing resources, assisting customers in migrating workloads to the cloud, helping optimize architectures for security and cost, and enabling innovation through managed services and platform tools. Typical branch functions include direct and indirect sales, professional services such as cloud migration and proof-of-concept engagements, technical support escalation, partner program support for value-added resellers and consulting partners, and coordination of training and developer community events in Spain. Main products and services: While the underlying cloud products and services are developed and operated by AWS globally, the Spain Branch provides local access, commercial arrangements, and professional assistance for the full suite of AWS offerings. Key categories of AWS products and services accessible through the Spain Branch include: - Compute: Elastic Cloud Compute (Amazon EC2), AWS Lambda (serverless compute), and container services such as Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS). - Storage and Content Delivery: Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Elastic Block Store (EBS), Amazon S3 Glacier for archival storage, and Amazon CloudFront CDN. - Databases and Data Stores: Managed relational services (Amazon RDS), Amazon Aurora, and NoSQL offerings such as Amazon DynamoDB. - Networking and Global Infrastructure: Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Elastic Load Balancing, Amazon Route 53 DNS, and services that integrate with AWS global Regions and Availability Zones. - Security, Identity and Compliance: AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Key Management Service (KMS), AWS Shield and AWS WAF for DDoS and application protection, and a range of compliance, auditing, and governance tools. - Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI: AWS analytics services (Amazon Redshift, Kinesis), machine learning and AI tools including Amazon SageMaker and related managed AI services. - Developer Tools and Application Services: AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and managed messaging, queuing and application integration services. - Management, Monitoring and Cost Optimization: AWS CloudFormation, AWS CloudTrail, Amazon CloudWatch, and Cost Explorer for governance and operational visibility. Industry positioning and customer focus: The Spain Branch supports organizations across industries—financial services, telecommunications, media, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, public sector, and startups—providing cloud infrastructure and platform services that support digital transformation, data-driven applications, and scalable internet-facing services. The branch often collaborates with local AWS Partner Network (APN) members—consulting firms, managed service providers, and independent software vendors—to deliver joint solutions that meet Spanish regulatory and language requirements. Local compliance and data residency: As part of AWS’s regional approach, the Spain Branch helps customers understand and meet Spanish and EU legal, regulatory, and data protection requirements. While core AWS cloud services are provided from AWS’s global infrastructure (regions and availability zones), the local branch supports customers with guidance on data residency, GDPR compliance, and contractual terms suitable for operations in Spain and the EU. Support, training, and community engagement: The Spain Branch coordinates technical training, certification programs, workshops, bootcamps, and customer immersion days. It engages with developers, startups, academic institutions, and government entities to foster cloud skills and adoption. AWS’s local offices also typically organize events and collaborate with local partner ecosystems to accelerate cloud-based innovation in country. Relationship to global AWS: Operationally and commercially, the Spain Branch is integrated with AWS’s global product portfolio, infrastructure, and service teams. It does not independently develop the global AWS service catalog; instead, it facilitates adoption of AWS-managed services and partners with regional and global teams to deliver solutions, support programs, and service-level commitments to Spanish customers. Governance and legal structure: The branch is an extension of the Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL legal entity (a Luxembourg-based company used by AWS to conduct EMEA operations). As a branch office, it operates under the legal and corporate governance frameworks that apply to the parent EMEA entity while maintaining local representation and operations to engage effectively with Spanish customers and authorities. This description focuses on verifiable, publicly documented functions and offerings associated with Amazon Web Services and its regional EMEA operations. The Spain Branch represents the local presence through which AWS engages with customers, partners and public institutions in Spain to provide cloud infrastructure, managed services, professional assistance and localized commercial and compliance support.
