Then come join Amazon's Law Enforcement Response (LER) team as a Specialist, where you'll play a vital role in bridging the gap between law enforcement agencies and Amazon's commitment to security and customer privacy. In this full-time, in-office position, you'll manage and respond to global law enforcement requests, primarily from European and U.S. agencies, while expertly balancing urgent priorities and assessing operational and business risks.

The role combines analytical thinking with strategic decision-making as you process sensitive information through subpoenas and search warrants. Success in this position requires having an eagle eye for detail while keeping the bigger picture, finding satisfaction in untangling the seemingly impossible, navigating ambiguous territory with confidence and precision, and rock-solid communication abilities. You'll collaborate and interact with many different Amazon’s business teams and engage with international law enforcement agencies, making cultural awareness and diplomatic communication essential. The ideal candidate brings a balanced approach to managing multiple priorities, demonstrates sound judgment in complex situations, and maintains exceptional attention to detail while upholding the highest standards of customer data privacy and security compliance.

Key job responsibilities
• Evaluate and process law enforcement requests with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and Amazon's policies requiring strategic thinking and swift, accurate judgment during and outside of business hours..
• Expertly utilize multiple internal tools and systems to compile, analyze, and deliver accurate information while maintaining adherence to strict confidentiality standards.
• Help drive continuous improvement by identifying patterns, trends, and opportunities to enhance operational efficiency in request processing. You will also contribute to policy development and process refinement, focusing on scalability and operational excellence.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with law enforcement personnel, Amazon employees, and other stakeholders, always maintaining the highest standards of discretion.
• This role involves exposure to sensitive and potentially disturbing content, including graphic images, videos, audio recordings, and offensive or derogatory language.
• Specialists rotate on-call duties every 3-4 weeks, responding to emergency law enforcement requests during weekdays (7:00 AM - 16:00 PM CET) and for shared EU/US holidays (Christmas & New Year)

Basic Qualifications

- Speak, write, and read fluently in German
- Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience managing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- Knowledge of criminal justice processes, including understanding of legal documents (subpoenas, search warrants, court orders) and law enforcement request procedures.
- Proven capacity to manage numerous complex and time-critical law enforcement requests simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

- Speak, write, and read fluently in one additional European language
- 1+ years of legal experience
- Experience with strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience building and growing relationships with internal and external partners
- Prior experience engaging with law enforcement personnel, and/or experience in law enforcement
