Job Description

Shape the future of luxury retail at Amazon. As a Senior Manager, Business Development, you will architect and execute the strategy that brings the world's most coveted luxury brands to customers in an inventive and engaging way. This role demands a strong leader who can navigate the intersection of luxury tradition and digital innovation.

You will own the strategic approach to luxury brand partnerships, transforming how prestigious brands engage with Amazon. Your work will directly influence which luxury brands our customers discover and how they experience them. This position requires someone who moves seamlessly between boardrooms and cross-functional teams, translating luxury brand needs into scalable solutions while maintaining the authenticity and prestige these brands demand.

Success in this role means leveraging your established network of C-suite luxury executives while building new relationships that unlock previously inaccessible brands. You will identify white space opportunities, design novel partnership models, and establish Amazon as a trusted member of the luxury community. Your deep understanding of luxury retail dynamics, combined with creative problem-solving, will enable you to address complex industry challenges in ways that benefit customers without compromising brand integrity.

Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
• Design and own the long-term strategy for luxury brand acquisition and relationship management, informed by deep knowledge of luxury market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities
• Shape the overall direction of Amazon's luxury business, influencing operations, customer experience design, clienteling programs, marketing activations, and integration with broader Amazon initiatives
• Drive senior leadership decision-making and secure organizational alignment on strategic priorities

Business Development & Partnership Management
• Lead high-stakes negotiations with C-suite executives at global luxury brands, closing transformational partnerships that expand selection and elevate the customer experience
• Proactively identify, evaluate, and pursue partnership opportunities that align with strategic objectives and unlock new customer segments
• Develop and execute a comprehensive brand engagement strategy that balances short-term wins with long-term relationship building

Business Acumen & Cross-Functional Leadership
• Analyze category P&L to identify growth opportunities and optimize business performance
• Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning merchandising, marketing, operations, and technology teams
• Establish Amazon's reputation within the luxury industry through thought leadership and strategic community engagement

Basic Qualifications

- 10+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience
- 10+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience engaging and presenting to senior executives (CXO level).
- MBA
- Experience managing P&L
- Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices
- Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
