Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l. is a Luxembourg-registered private limited liability company (société à responsabilité limitée) that operates as an integral legal and operational entity within the Amazon corporate group in Europe. As a member of the multinational Amazon organizational structure, Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l. functions as a regional hub that supports and enables Amazon’s retail, marketplace and related commercial activities across European markets. The company is one of several Luxembourg-based Amazon entities that centralize particular aspects of the group’s European operations and provides corporate, commercial and operational services that help deliver Amazon’s customer-facing products and services in the region. Corporate overview and role: Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l. is structured as an operating and service company within the Amazon Group and is incorporated under Luxembourg law. While legal responsibilities and the precise scope of activities are determined by group-level governance and intercompany agreements, the company’s role broadly includes acting as a central commercial and administrative node for Amazon’s European businesses. In this capacity it supports cross-border retail activities, coordinates certain commercial arrangements, and participates in the financial, contractual and operational processes that underpin Amazon’s marketplace and direct retail offerings in multiple European countries. Core business activities: The company’s activities are consistent with Amazon’s broader European operations and typically include a combination of the following functions: (1) providing corporate and shared services to other Amazon group entities (such as finance, accounting, invoicing support, procurement, and certain management services); (2) supporting commercial operations for Amazon’s retail and marketplace businesses in Europe (including activities tied to listing, selling and distributing products to end customers across various EU markets); (3) participating in contractual arrangements that enable cross-border trade and logistics coordination within the Amazon group; and (4) facilitating certain administrative and regulatory compliance tasks required for operating in multiple European jurisdictions. These activities are carried out in coordination with other Amazon subsidiaries across Europe that manage warehousing, fulfillment, payment processing, and cloud services. Main products and services supported: Although Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l. itself is a corporate entity rather than an external consumer-facing brand, it underpins and supports a range of Amazon’s consumer and business products and services in Europe. Those offerings include Amazon’s online retail platform (product listings, direct retail sales, and marketplace facilitation for third‑party sellers), customer-facing subscription services such as Amazon Prime (where applicable via group arrangements), digital content distribution (e-books, streaming media licensing and distribution arrangements performed by other group units but supported by centralized commercial functions), and Amazon’s advertising services and seller services that enable third-party merchants to list and sell products on Amazon’s marketplaces. The company’s internal services also help enable logistics and fulfillment workflows by coordinating commercial and contractual aspects with the Amazon fulfillment and transportation network. Relationship to Amazon’s technology and e-commerce operations: Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l. is part of the broader Amazon organization, which publicly identifies itself as a global technology company focused on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming and related services. Within that context, Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l. supports the technological and commercial infrastructure necessary for Amazon’s European e-commerce ecosystem—working alongside Amazon’s technology, fulfillment, cloud (AWS) and local retail entities. The company’s supportive and enabling functions allow technology-driven services (such as the online marketplace platform, order management systems, catalog management and pricing engines) to operate across multiple European legal jurisdictions. Regulatory, corporate and employment context: As a Luxembourg entity, Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l. is subject to Luxembourg corporate and trade registration requirements and participates in group-level tax, reporting and compliance structures appropriate for multinational operations. The company’s governance, intercompany agreements and operational responsibilities are determined by Amazon’s global corporate structure and internal policies. Employment and operational presence are typically coordinated with other European subsidiaries and local offices that provide customer service, software development, fulfillment center staffing and other functions. While consumer-facing responsibilities (such as physical product fulfillment and customer support) are often handled by specialized regional subsidiaries and local operating units, Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l. provides essential commercial, financial and administrative capabilities that enable those services to be delivered consistently across the European markets. Publicly available sources and corporate identity: Information about Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l. is found in public business registers, financial disclosures and Amazon’s corporate communications that describe the group’s European corporate structure and operations. The company is one of several Amazon entities incorporated in Luxembourg that together facilitate Amazon’s presence and commerce activities across Europe. For customers, partners and regulatory stakeholders, Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l. is best understood as a central European legal and operational entity within the Amazon group that helps coordinate and execute the commercial, administrative and contractual functions necessary to operate Amazon’s e-commerce and associated services in multiple European jurisdictions.
