We are looking for a Cluster Security Manager for our private cloud infrastructure in Australia. We need someone with experience managing security of large critical installations, ideally data centers; with professional experience managing people with varying skill sets; and who can set strategy, manage budgets, lead projects, and drive improvements in our security practices and operations.

You’ll lead a team of security experts , uniformed security officers, and manage the day-to-day security of our data centers. You’ll be responsible for working with our customers and Amazon teams to develop new processes, deploy new technology, and continuously improve security of our operations.

You’ll be responsible for developing, tracking, and driving our key security metrics, including program reviews and testing our security controls. You’ll oversee the work of cleared and uncleared vendors, contractors, and Amazon employees, to ensure our customers’ stringent security requirements are met.

As a leader in private cloud data center security, you will engage with senior leadership across AWS and our customers, including writing and presenting documents on your ideas, operational procedures, and results.


Key job responsibilities
• Oversee and manage physical security operations for all data centre sites within assigned region
• Manage strategic operations of security vendors providing services, training, and risk assessments, including oversight of contract guard force operations.
• Lead and oversee investigations for security incidents, policy violations, and other security-related matters.
• Manage access control systems and processes, ensuring proper implementation and adherence to Amazon policies and compliance requirements.
• Oversee the Development and implementation of security plans for unique security situations
• Conduct data analysis and create benchmarking metrics to support risk assessments, identify threats, and report security performance indicators.
• Manage security audits, incident reporting, and metrics reporting to leadership, providing visibility into security program effectiveness.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance security and safety outcomes across the region.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within budget constraints while maintaining security standards and operational requirements.

A day in the life
The incumbent ensures the security team is set up for success by promulgating clear guidance and direction, providing proper resources, and supporting employee career development. Additionally, the role requires continuous coordination with team stakeholders in Operations, HR, Logistics, Design and Engineering, and Construction, to ensure security services are synchronized with other business process. The role requires a strong commitment to hiring in order to find the right candidate for demanding roles, while coping with a tight labor market.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience with physical security control and surveillance systems
- Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
- Demonstrated track record of growth and increasing responsibility including leadership positions that require maturity, judgment, negotiation, analytics, and influence skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams
- * Ability to manage regionally distributed 24x7 operations to include short-notice response to emerging operational issues
- * Ability to able to credibly coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders
