Job Description

Are you interested in a high-impact role with exposure to senior leaders? The EU Network Flow and Technologies (NFT) team is seeking a customer-focused Business Intelligence Engineer with strong analytical and technical skills to drive performance measurement, innovation, and execution in network operations and fulfillment center flow management. Collaborating closely with Amazon Fulfillment Center Operations, Transportation Services, and data teams, you will be responsible for developing analytics dashboards, deep-dive tools, and influencing product roadmaps using data, AWS services, and insights to optimize end-to-end network flows.

Key job responsibilities
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, your responsibilities include:

- Managing intake, coordinating, and gathering requirements from business partners to handle increased data volume and the demand for more cost-efficient and scalable pipelines and tech solutions that support network capacity management and flow optimization.
- Prioritizing initiatives, designing and implementing technical solutions with appropriate strategies and design principles to enable real-time network monitoring and decision-making.
- Driving best practices in Operational Excellence while supporting intraweek capacity management, risk mitigation, and automation initiatives across EU fulfillment centers.

Ideal candidate: Strong in SQL, Redshift, metrics, ETL, tool development, cloud environments, and dashboarding. Python proficiency required; JavaScript preferred. Excels in translating customer needs into innovative BI solutions, passionate about leveraging data for informed decisions and network optimization.

A day in the life
You'll start by reviewing network flow metrics across EU fulfillment centers, identifying capacity risks needing immediate attention. Throughout the day, you'll partner with operations teams to translate pain points into technical solutions- building ETL pipelines, refining dashboards, and automating manual processes.

Expect to move between SQL/Python coding sessions, stakeholder meetings, and data quality troubleshooting. You might present findings to operations managers one hour, then collaborate with data engineers on pipeline optimization the next. During peak periods, you'll respond to urgent requests while balancing long-term scalable solutions.

Beyond core responsibilities, you'll influence the NFT tech roadmap, propose automation initiatives, and shape how the European network uses data for capacity decisions.

Amazon EU S.à r.l. (Spain Branch) — descriptive overview Amazon EU S.à r.l., Spain Branch (commonly styled as Amazon EU S.à r.l., Sucursal en España) is the Spanish branch of Amazon EU S.à r.l., the Luxembourg-registered European subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. The branch is the locally registered legal entity through which Amazon operates retail, marketplace and related services in Spain. As a branch of the European holding company, the Spain Branch carries out day-to-day commercial, fulfillment and customer-facing operations on behalf of the wider Amazon group in the Spanish market, and supports Spanish sellers, buyers and business partners who interact with Amazon’s consumer platforms and services. Company overview and role The Spain Branch functions as Amazon’s operational presence in Spain for a broad set of activities related to the Amazon retail ecosystem. This includes operating and maintaining the consumer-facing website and mobile storefront for Spain (amazon.es), facilitating and administering the Amazon Marketplace for third-party sellers in Spain, providing logistics and fulfillment services (including Fulfillment by Amazon) for merchants and consumers, and managing local customer service, returns processing and consumer protection compliance. The branch also supports local implementations of subscription programs (notably Amazon Prime benefits for Spanish customers), digital content distribution tailored to Spanish consumers (for example Prime Video and Amazon Music offerings available through amazon.es), and localized promotional and marketing activities. Core business activities and services - Retail and marketplace: Amazon EU S.à r.l. (Spain Branch) enables direct retail sales to Spanish consumers through amazon.es and operates the Amazon Marketplace where independent third‑party sellers list products for sale to buyers in Spain and other territories served by the Spanish storefront. The branch handles order management, payments processing for sales on the Spanish marketplace, invoicing required under Spanish and EU law, and coordination with payment providers. - Fulfillment, logistics and delivery: The branch coordinates logistics services for shipments in Spain, including warehousing, inventory management and fulfillment services offered to sellers via Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). Amazon’s local logistics network in Spain includes fulfillment centers, sortation and delivery operations that integrate with third-party carriers and Amazon’s own last-mile delivery partners to provide parcel delivery options and estimated delivery times through amazon.es. - Subscription and digital services: Through the Spanish storefront and local accounts, the branch administers subscription services such as Amazon Prime (which bundles benefits like fast delivery, Prime Video access and Prime Music), and provides localized access to digital content, apps and services purchased or subscribed to via amazon.es. The branch also supports the sale and distribution of Amazon devices (Kindle e-readers, Fire tablets, Echo smart speakers) to Spanish consumers via the Spanish storefront. - Advertising and seller services: Amazon Advertising and seller support services are available to businesses that advertise and sell on amazon.es; the branch facilitates access to advertising inventory on the Spanish storefront, tools for sellers (account management, selling plans, performance dashboards), and services for businesses such as Amazon Business (B2B) offerings active in Spain. Relationship to the broader Amazon group Amazon EU S.à r.l. is one of several legal entities within the Amazon corporate family that manage distinct regional, retail, cloud and services activities in Europe. The Spain Branch specifically represents the Luxembourg company’s local registration in Spain and conducts operations in the Spanish jurisdiction. Some Amazon services that operate in Spain — for example, Amazon Web Services (AWS) — are offered through separate legal entities within the Amazon group; the Spain Branch’s principal remit is retail, marketplace and related consumer services on the Spanish storefront. Compliance, consumer support and local engagement As a branch operating in Spain, the entity is subject to Spanish and EU consumer protection rules, tax and VAT regimes, data protection requirements under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and local labor and commercial law. The branch maintains local customer service channels, returns handling and compliance processes to meet statutory obligations in Spain and to support sellers and consumers using amazon.es. Amazon has invested in localized operations across Spain including logistics infrastructure, partnerships with local carriers and recruitment of local staff for customer support, operations and technical roles. Mission and public positioning While the original corporate mission “to be Earth’s most customer‑centric company” is publicly stated by Amazon at the group level, the Spain Branch’s public-facing activities reflect that mission through efforts to enhance consumer convenience (fast delivery and broad product selection), provide services to Spanish businesses to sell in an online marketplace, and offer localized digital content and subscription services tailored to Spanish customer preferences. The Spain Branch enables Spanish consumers and businesses to interact with Amazon’s global commerce platform while complying with Spanish regulatory requirements. Public presence and primary customer touchpoints For consumers and sellers in Spain, the principal public touchpoints for the branch’s services are the consumer retail website amazon.es, seller portals and support pages for third‑party merchants, customer service contact options listed on the Spanish site, and business‑facing service pages describing fulfillment, advertising and seller tools. The Spain Branch supports the local operation of these services as part of Amazon’s European retail infrastructure, enabling both Spanish consumers and businesses to participate in Amazon’s marketplace and to access related digital and logistical services.
