Company Information

Company Name: Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd

Company Website: https://www.aboutamazon.com

Company Address: AUS, VIC, Melbourne

Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd is an Australian-registered legal entity that operates as part of the broader Amazon corporate group. As a regional subsidiary bearing the Amazon name, it functions primarily to provide corporate, administrative and compliance support to enable Amazon’s commercial and operational activity within Australia. The company exists to serve as a localized corporate vehicle through which Amazon can engage with customers, sellers, suppliers, service providers and local regulators in the Australian market while aligning with the policies, commercial models and operating standards of Amazon’s global organization. Company overview Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd is a wholly owned (or group-affiliated) subsidiary within the global Amazon organization. As with similarly named Amazon corporate entities in other jurisdictions, this Australian entity is established to centralize and manage a range of non-customer-facing corporate functions in-country. It does not represent a separate consumer-facing brand in the market; rather, it supports Amazon’s diverse consumer, seller and partner-facing businesses that include retail e-commerce (including the amazon.com.au marketplace), digital content and media, logistics and delivery services, and other technology-driven offerings. The subsidiary is part of Amazon’s legal and operational footprint in Australia and works in coordination with Amazon’s international business units. Core business activities The principal activities of Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd are corporate and administrative in nature. Typical responsibilities for a corporate services subsidiary of a global technology and retail group include providing centralized functions such as finance and accounting services, billing and invoicing support, contract administration, corporate legal support, tax and regulatory compliance assistance, human resources and payroll coordination, procurement support and vendor management, and other back-office services. These activities enable the operating business units (retail, marketplace, logistics, AWS, advertising and content distribution) to function effectively in the local market while meeting local statutory, tax and regulatory requirements. By consolidating such activities into a corporate services entity, the Amazon group can ensure consistent application of global corporate policies and processes while providing a single point of contact for counterparties and regulators in Australia. The entity typically handles administrative contracts and agreements, facilitates local payment and collection processes, supports corporate reporting and assists in implementing global programs in the Australian jurisdiction. Main products and services (scope of services rather than consumer products) Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd itself does not produce consumer goods or direct retail services to end customers under a distinct brand; instead, its ‘‘products’’ are corporate support services that underpin Amazon’s market-facing offerings. These include: - Finance and accounting services: centralized invoicing, accounts payable/receivable processing, local financial reporting and reconciliation to support Amazon’s retail and marketplace transactions in Australia. - Contracting and legal administration: execution and management of commercial agreements, terms and conditions for seller and vendor arrangements, and support for compliance with Australian consumer protection and data protection requirements. - Tax and regulatory compliance support: ensuring adherence to Australian taxation rules (GST, payroll taxes, etc.), assisting with statutory filings and responding to local regulatory enquiries in coordination with group tax and legal teams. - Human resources and payroll liaison: administering employee records, payroll processing coordination and HR policy implementation in alignment with Amazon group standards. - Procurement and vendor management: managing supplier relationships, commercial terms and procurement processes required to support Amazon’s operational needs in the country. - Operational and program support: implementing global programs locally, supporting launches or expansions of Amazon services (for example, marketplace initiatives, logistics partnerships, or corporate programs) by providing administrative and operational infrastructure. Relationship to Amazon’s global business Although Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd is a corporate entity rather than a customer-facing technology product or retail operation, it plays an important enabling role within Amazon’s broader technology and e-commerce ecosystem. Its administrative functions directly support consumer-facing services offered by Amazon in Australia, including the amazon.com.au marketplace, fulfillment and delivery networks, digital content distribution, and enterprise services such as Amazon Web Services when those require local contractual or administrative arrangements. The entity helps bridge global corporate processes and local operational requirements, ensuring that Amazon’s technology-driven business units can operate efficiently within Australia’s legal, tax and regulatory environment. Public and regulatory presence Entities with names like Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd are typically registered with Australia’s corporate regulator and appear in official company registers and public filings. Such registrations identify the company as part of Amazon’s corporate family and provide a legal framework for conducting business in Australia. The subsidiary may be listed in regulatory communications, company registers and filings that disclose local corporate structures and responsibilities. Scope and limitations of this description This description focuses on verifiable, high-level, corporate support functions commonly performed by corporate services subsidiaries within large multinational technology and e-commerce companies. It does not attempt to attribute specific operational contracts, individual employee counts, or proprietary product development responsibilities to this particular legal entity unless explicitly stated in primary, company-published sources. For consumer-facing product information, Amazon’s global and regional consumer websites and Amazon’s corporate communications provide the definitive descriptions of retail, cloud and media offerings that the corporate services entity helps to support. For authoritative, up-to-date details about Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd (including legal filings, officers, and registered addresses), consult Australian corporate and regulatory records and Amazon’s official corporate communications.
