Company Information

Company Name: Hire with Reef

Company Website: https://www.reeftechnology.com

Company Address: Sydney, Australia

Reef Technology (commonly branded as Reef) is a technology-driven urban real estate and logistics company that transforms underutilized urban assets—most notably parking lots and garages—into a distributed network of neighborhood hubs that host a variety of commerce, logistics, hospitality, and service operations. Originally launched as ParkJockey and later rebranded to Reef, the company combines real estate management, operations, and proprietary software to enable new use cases for small-footprint urban spaces. Reef positions itself at the intersection of proptech, last-mile logistics, hospitality, and cloud kitchen / on-demand food services. Company overview and core business activities Reef’s core business model is built around acquiring or operating underused urban space and converting it into micro-hubs that deliver local services through a mix of proprietary operations and partnerships. These micro-hubs typically host one or more of the following functions: ghost/virtual kitchens serving delivery-only restaurant concepts; last-mile logistics and fulfillment operations for e-commerce and grocery partners; neighborhood retail and convenience offerings; automotive and parking management services; and branded consumer-facing services such as convenience retail or pop-up retail footprints. Reef’s approach emphasizes leveraging existing real estate footprints close to dense population centers to shorten delivery distances and create neighborhood-level fulfillment capacity. Technology and platform A distinguishing element of Reef’s proposition is its investment in software and operational technology to orchestrate distributed networks of micro-hubs. Reef provides a technology platform that supports the scheduling and routing of delivery drivers, order management for ghost kitchens and retail partners, point-of-sale and merchant integration, real-time hub operations monitoring, and analytics to optimize utilization and routing. That platform is used to coordinate partners (restaurants, retailers, grocers), third-party delivery services and Reef’s own operational staff. Reef’s combination of software and real-world assets enables it to deliver rapid last-mile fulfillment and to offer merchants the ability to test and scale delivery-only concepts without the capital expense of building traditional restaurants or storefronts. Products and services - Neighborhood hubs / micro-fulfillment centers: Conversion of parking lots, garages and other underused urban sites into small, distributed fulfillment and service centers that support delivery, pickup and occasionally in-person retail. - Ghost/virtual kitchens: On-site kitchen facilities that host multiple delivery-only restaurant brands. Reef provides the kitchen space, equipment, and operational support while integrating with delivery platforms and restaurant partners. - Last-mile logistics and fulfillment: Fulfillment services for e-commerce, grocery and quick-commerce businesses, leveraging proximity to dense neighborhoods to reduce delivery times and logistics costs. - Parking and mobility services: Technology-enabled parking management and services when sites are used for vehicle parking and related mobility solutions. - Merchant and partner integrations: Platform tools, APIs and operational services that allow restaurants, retailers and brands to plug into Reef’s network for order management, routing, inventory and analytics. - Real estate operations and site conversion: Site acquisition, permitting, build-out and ongoing operations management for converting parking and other spaces into operational micro-hubs. Market focus and customers Reef serves a mix of customers that includes restaurant brands and independent restaurateurs seeking delivery-focused operations, grocery and retail partners looking for closer fulfillment points, e-commerce companies seeking improved last-mile performance, and municipal or property partners seeking higher-yield uses for parking and urban real estate. Reef’s network model aims to serve densely populated urban and suburban neighborhoods where short-distance deliveries and quick service are most valuable. The company typically operates through local partnerships with property owners, restaurants and merchants while managing hub operations centrally through its technology platform. Business model and partnerships Reef’s revenue streams are multi-faceted: rental and service fees charged to merchant partners for kitchen space and hub services; fees or margins on last-mile delivery and fulfillment operations; parking and property management revenue when spaces are used for mobility services; and technology or platform fees related to software, integrations and operations support. Reef often works in partnership with restaurant brands, delivery marketplaces, grocers and property owners to share operational responsibility and scale the hub network more rapidly. The company’s capital model has included both direct investment in real estate conversion and operating arrangements where Reef manages spaces on behalf of property owners. Industry positioning and differentiation Reef operates across several adjacent industry categories—proptech (real estate technology), last-mile logistics, cloud/ghost kitchens, and urban mobility. Its key differentiators include the physical network of urban micro-hubs located close to end customers, a unified operational technology platform to manage distributed operations and partnerships, and an integrated services offering that bundles space, equipment, operations and logistics. By repurposing existing city infrastructure, the company seeks to provide a lower-capital, faster-to-market alternative for merchants and brands that want rapid local presence and delivery capability. Mission and strategic emphasis On public pages and corporate materials, Reef frames its mission around reimagining urban space to better serve neighborhood needs and support the changing economics of urban commerce and delivery. The company emphasizes creating local employment opportunities tied to hub operations and enabling merchants—especially small and local restaurants—to access delivery-driven revenue without the overhead of traditional storefronts. Reef also highlights sustainability and efficiency gains from shorter delivery distances and better utilization of existing urban infrastructure. Notable operational notes Reef is known for operating a dense network of hubs in multiple metropolitan areas where it partners with restaurants, retailers and municipalities. The company’s business model requires coordination with local regulators and property owners to adapt parking and public-facing sites to new commercial uses. Reef’s platform-driven approach aims to scale these conversions efficiently while maintaining consistent operational standards across locations. Overall, Reef is a technology-enabled operator that combines real estate conversion, on-site operations and a software platform to provide a turnkey solution for distributed urban commerce, last-mile fulfillment and delivery-first foodservice. Its product and service mix is aimed at addressing the challenges of modern urban logistics, monetizing underused city space and enabling merchants to reach customers more quickly and cost-effectively.
