Are you a eager Technical AI engineer who wants to make a real impact-not just at one company, but across an entire portfolio of leading software companies? Do you see opportunities where others see challenges, and do you get energized by delving into the technical aspects of complex issues? Then this role is for you.

What will you be doing?

As a Technical AI Engineer, you'll be part of a small, agile team of AI professionals working for Total Specific Solutions (TSS)-one of Europe's largest groups of vertical software companies, with over 180 business units in more than 30 countries.

You'll work on designing and building innovative AI solutions and software components, experimenting with the latest AI technologies, frameworks, and tools and applying them to concrete client solutions.

You'll play a key role in technical projects for internal clients, where you'll not only develop solutions but also contribute ideas on architecture and direction. You'll provide technical guidance on projects and support teams in making the right choices.

You'll be working for various business units, both in the Netherlands and internationally, which ensures plenty of variety and challenge. If you're interested, you can travel-from Barcelona to Rome to Jakarta. We have offices everywhere and are expanding. Frequent international travel isn't a must, but traveling within the Netherlands is at least part of the job.

Do you see yourself in this role?

You enjoy solving technical puzzles and building solutions that are scalable and future-proof. You're curious about AI, software architecture, and the latest technologies, and you enjoy continuously developing your skills in these areas.

You can work independently, but you also feel comfortable in a role where you guide teams and involve them in technical decisions You will be working with colleagues from different parts of the organization, which means you will need to be able to communicate and work well with others.

You're excited about making an impact at multiple companies simultaneously in an international environment.

Company Information

Company Name: SpraakLab

Company Website: https://spraaklab.nl

Company Address: Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands

SpraakLab is a commercial provider of speech technology and conversational AI solutions that focuses on applying automatic speech recognition, synthesis, and voice-driven interfaces to business use cases. The company develops and supplies a suite of products and professional services that enable organizations to capture, analyze and act on spoken language in customer-facing and internal systems. SpraakLab’s offerings are intended to support voice user interfaces, contact-center automation, voice-enabled web and mobile applications, and analytics workflows that extract structured information from audio streams. Core business activities performed by SpraakLab include the design, development and deployment of automatic speech recognition (ASR) engines and text-to-speech (TTS) systems, the creation of bespoke conversational agents and voice assistants, and the integration of speech components into enterprise application stacks. The company provides platform capabilities and APIs for speech-to-text conversion, real-time streaming recognition, and customizable voice synthesis (including domain- and speaker-adaptive voices). In addition to core speech engines, SpraakLab offers tooling and services for training and fine-tuning models on customer data, data collection and annotation services for supervised learning, and evaluation tools to measure recognition accuracy, latency and robustness in production environments. SpraakLab’s product set typically spans several categories: (1) Speech recognition services that transcribe live or recorded conversations into text with support for multiple languages and dialects; (2) Text-to-speech services that synthesize natural-sounding voices for IVR systems, virtual agents and assistive technologies; (3) Conversational platform components used to design, test and deploy dialogue flows and natural-language understanding (NLU) modules; and (4) Speech analytics and insight tools that perform keyword spotting, sentiment analysis, call summarization and metadata extraction for downstream reporting and process automation. Where required by customers, SpraakLab also integrates speaker identification and voice biometrics capabilities to support authentication and fraud detection use cases. Beyond out-of-the-box services, SpraakLab positions itself as a systems integrator for voice projects: providing consultancy, solution architecture, and implementation services that connect speech capabilities with contact center platforms, CRM systems, cloud infrastructures and enterprise backends. Typical engagements include building custom voice assistants for customer service automation, automating call routing and transcription workflows, implementing voice-driven forms and kiosks, and creating searchable archives of spoken content. The company offers both cloud-hosted and on-premises deployment options to meet requirements for latency, scalability and data governance. A significant element of SpraakLab’s offering is support for industry-specific adaptations of speech technology. The company assists clients in optimizing recognition for specialized vocabularies (for example, healthcare terminology, legal words, or technical product names), in complying with sectoral privacy and compliance rules, and in producing domain-specific voice experiences that improve user acceptance and accuracy. Services often include data preparation, custom language-model tuning, pronunciation dictionaries, and scripted testing to ensure recognition performance meets agreed service levels in production environments. SpraakLab supplies developer-focused assets such as SDKs, RESTful APIs and documentation to accelerate integration. These developer tools typically enable real-time streaming recognition from web browsers or native mobile applications, batch transcription of large audio collections, and programmatic control over synthesis voices and prosody. The company also supports analytics dashboards and reporting modules that expose usage metrics, transcription quality statistics, and cost/performance data to administrators. Professional services, an important part of SpraakLab’s business model, include project scoping and prototyping, user experience design for voice interactions, model training and validation, system integration, and managed operations. For clients with limited internal AI expertise, SpraakLab provides managed services that handle continuous model updates, data labeling cycles and performance monitoring. These services are structured to help enterprises accelerate time-to-value while addressing operational concerns such as security, scalability and compliance. SpraakLab’s client base typically includes organizations that depend on high-volume spoken interactions—such as contact centers, telecommunications providers, healthcare organizations, financial services firms and public-sector bodies—although the company’s products are applicable to any business seeking to add voice capabilities to applications and services. The company emphasizes measurable outcomes such as reduced average handling time through automated call routing, improved accessibility via synthesized speech, searchable transcriptions for regulatory compliance, and better customer insights through speech analytics. Technically, SpraakLab combines off-the-shelf machine learning frameworks with in-house expertise to deliver tuned models and production-grade pipelines. Their engineering work covers audio preprocessing, noise-robust feature extraction, model training for ASR and TTS, and deployment orchestration for scalable inference. The company supports multi-language recognition and often provides customization to improve recognition in regional or low-resource languages. SpraakLab also engages in partnerships and integrations with third-party platforms to extend the reach of its technology—for example, linking speech services to popular contact center platforms, CRM solutions and cloud providers. Governance and privacy considerations are commonly addressed as part of solution proposals, with contractual and technical measures to control data retention, anonymization and secure handling of audio and transcript data. Overall, SpraakLab offers an end-to-end approach for organizations looking to adopt voice-first interfaces and speech-driven automation, combining software products, APIs, and professional services to deliver production-ready voice applications and analytics.
